Koh Chang - White Sands - Budget Accomodation?

Dear S-experts

 

During my next visit to Thailand I would like to spend 2 - 3 weeks on Koh Chang.

 

Does anyone of you know of any budget-priced accomodation on White Sands Beach

 

with aircon and wi-fi?

PS: What are the latest news on the price level for p4p compared to Pattaya?

Hi

 

Not been yet going later this year but friends ( all fellas ) living and working in Bangkok go there a lot they have given us 2 place but not so cheap.

 

15 Palms, and Buffalo Bills. Bearing these in mind we are are also looking at Paddy's Palms.

 

Please let me know how you get on.

when i stayed in white sands there were signs for a/c rooms 600bt on the road

 

your best bet is just show up and check them out unless its christmas/new year

 

also for me three weeks is far too long to spend there two weeks maybe if you

like taking it easy

koh chang hut is pretty cheap, about 400 thb a night.

i stay at Paddy palms, nice swimming pool, 700 baht a night with breakfast! Its always got customers.

 

Its very close to "little pattaya" (majority of the bars)

I agree Paddy's Palms or 15 Palms is perfect and those guys know how to party as well. Ask for Tony or Eddie as well and be sure to check out Mini Pats. There are also a couple good discos like the Sabai Bar and One.

What about something more beachfront - maybe a bungalow. Any suggestions? (Not one that has its own a disco going all night preferably)

First one:

pro: just next to the bars, it is to say, just far enough not to be noisy

contra: it is more like a hut and not really as comfortable as the next one

 

 

 

second one:

pro: accomodation is real value for money! (800 baht a night)

VERY beautifull beach at a 10 minute walk

some (about 10) quiet bars just across the road

not noisy, clean, comfortable.....

 

contra: it's between White Sand Beach and the next, too far to walk to the main bar area at WSB, i always ride a motorbike and that's like a 5 minute ride to WSB.

 

From both resorts i don't know about their wifi, but you can call them and ask

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I slept in both a couple of days and preferred the second.

Those sideways pics above do not look worth 800 baht in the slightest

 

Paddies is definitely better than that, go up the hill a little and more options, across from Paddies in Koh Chang Huts at 600 or 700 overlooking the sea for starters, TV, fridge, great balconies, side tables, dresser, etc

 

Alina is only 700 or 800 and has all that, on the beach side and has a pool across the road

White Sands Beach hotel is budget... Was there 2 years ago and it was pretty dated. I believe it was the first place in that part of the island. The location is excellent though... Right on the beach basically. Would not spend more than a few nights there though, myself. Bit too budget for long term accomodation for me.
