Renting a Car in Nang Rong

Heading up to the girlfriends home in a few weeks and looking to hire a car for a few days. Only thing Ive seen so far is this "Buriram Expats" site which is hopelessly overpriced and unfriendly service to boot. Any ideas welcome.

 

On another note will I be ok with just a UK license or will I need an International Drivers permit?

I have rented a car in Thailand many times with no problems.

I ALWAYS take photos of the car noting any dents and scratches before taking car. This gives them no room for bull shit.

I ALWAYS check all fluids and tires including air pressure.

I ALWAYS buy first class insurance. -Like no fault. Have never needed it but why risk it.

I have never paid more than 1000 BHT a day for a normal newer compact car.

I suggest getting a small car to get around through traffic. Tried a mid size car once and learned my lesson.
