Pig on a Spit Help

MiKKo_EiKKi

Recommended Posts

Long time lurker here finally posting a question.

I used the search function for "pig" and many variations of roasted pig on a spit but haven't had any luck. I'm also a forum slut and have searched high and low (with Pattya-addicts being high) for a restaurant that serves pig from a spit.

I even used Google and only found a couple of places that sell whole/half pigs - I'm a pig but not that big of one!

Any Help would be really appreciated.

Mike

Pig On A Spit - Threesome with 2 guys and a girl, where there is one guy getting blown, the other giving it to her from behind. see also: fingercuff

Sentence - That slut ended up as pig on a spit by the end of the party

No sorry.. Can't help

Nice try but I was looking for something a little crispier and mouthwatering.

Likewise to the poster above I think your best bet is to look for balloons.

Most of the parties have pig on a spit....just wonder up and get the food for free.

Might be a good idea to have a drink or 2 there also. :)

Good advice from the other guys. You can normally find a couple of parties going on most days.

Used to be a place on Soi Lengkee off Soi Bhukao that supplied the whole thing, pig, barbecue, charcoal and everything they even would get it started for you. Don't know if it's still there though, i haven't ventured that way fro a while.

I saw preparation pig on a spit in one street conection soi Buakhao and 3rd Road. When you will go from New Plaza come to Soi Buakhao street turn right go on soi Buakhao and after about 100 metres turn left to first street conection soi Buakhao and 3rd Road (direction to hotel Holiday, but you do not come this hotel, but you have to turn right on half of this street). In half of this street is another small street and there is place for preparing pig. There you can ask for price.

You can ask also some owner beer bar for telephone for company preparing pig. When you ask owner in czech beer bar he can told you. (this bar is on street connection soi 7 and Central soi on the right side. Name bar B and M.Inside bar was made from wood. I think prices are from 4 K to 6 K (by weight often including service man for service)

I hope helped you little bit. Good luck.

There's a term in the book Money Number One. 'Balloon Chaser' or something similiar - it basically says if you want to eat free, specifically pig on spit roast - look for a bar with balloons outside, this means there will be a party later, with free food!

I've been called a lot of things but "balloon chaser" is a first. Thanks for the help all.

if it is the taste you are after, I'd recommend ordering a grilled pork knuckle in a reputable German restaurant. Skin will be crispy and the meat tasty.

German garden on Sundays, you have to order the day before.

I did a search on grilled pork knuckle and it seems to be a German delicacy. I might give it a shot if my balloon chasing doesn't work out. Thanks.

'gegrillte Schweinshaxe'

If you like the tzaste of grilled pork skin, you will love the Schweinshaxe.

Be sure to go for the real thing - the 'German garden' is one I know to serve genuinely grilled knuckles.

Some restaurants cheat by frying the knuckles in oil, ruins the taste, shame on them!

95% of the time the pig on a spit in tough and VERY chewy, this is because the people doing the slaughtering are clueless. ANybody that know about slaughtering knows, chasing an animal around stressing it out prodouces tough meat. Wish somebody would learn the slaughter the pigs in a non stress environemt.

suggest kosher/halal pigs for the win then?

ask any bar owner, there are only a few specialist vendors.

Can't help you locate a restaurant, but I may be able to help explain why your search came up empty - "pig" is only three letters, and it is my understanding that the search function will not work on a such short words. I'm sure a moderator could explain it better, but that's my understanding, at least.

Hello mister Pig, please don't stress out, we are only going to cut your throat. :D :D

Hmmm don't know too much about this topic, not being religious, but halal pig?

You can also use Google, just search on google for "site:pattaya-addicts.com <search-words>". But this will only result in posts in the public part of the forum.

Twice I have had problems with food eaten in Thailand and both times it involved a pig and a spit.

The uneven cooking and impatient diners can be blamed but I think there are better ways to get a pork fix that aren’t as risky.

Of course the Thais seem to love them.
