A hotel for a couple that like to play

OK - all booked now, we're off to Bangkok & Pattaya in under 2 weeks. The Bangkok hotel is booked but we need a place for Pattaya.

Our criteria is:

  • Quality & comfort (4*+)
  • We can take extra guests back (sometimes more than 1, both girls & ladyboys)
  • Central location (easy walk)
  • We like to play early/mid evening

We have done a air bit of reading here on the forums (fora?) about etiquette and here's our tips we have gleaned:

  • Be very sensitive in the better hotels to other guests, walking obvious bar girls through reception will not be appreciated and may offend. Get them to dress soberly.
  • We may need to go via the front desk to drop off IDs??
  • There may be an additional charge
  • hotels are ok with extra guests and understanding as long as it's discreet

So, here's our shortlist and thoughts:

  • Tim Boutique hotel - universally good reviews here. All say it's good quality, but no real comparisons. e.g. how does it compare to the Hilton or Travelodge
  • Marriott - this was our main choice, but reports say rooms are tired and looks expensive in comparison
  • Hilton - looks very good, excellent location. Rates look OK. Report of B1000 each for extra guests - that could get expensive ;) If pushed to make a decision right now, it would probably be the Hilton.
  • Dusit D2 - looks great, no availability :(
  • Siam Bayshore - mixed reports, seems a good location and good for a couple.

All input appreciated

  • We may need to go via the front desk to drop off IDs?? - Make sure your hotel takes Ladyboys
  • There may be an additional charge - again, don't choose these hotels if at all possible - there are plenty around
  • Hotels are ok with extra guests and understanding as long as it's discreet - I wouldn't worry about being discreet - I have had the hottest escort rock up in the shortest shorts and the hotel phones your room to tell you "lady here for you" to which the reply is "Thanks. Send her up"

So, here's our shortlist and thoughts:

  • Marriott - fail
  • Hilton - fail

Some people may be able to give some advice about Amari Nova suites or LKs perhaps

I don't think a gay hotel is really needed.

Is there really a problem at some hotels with ladyboys?
