Hotel Suggestions

With any luck I will be finally returning to Pattaya in a little over a month.

I was there in late July and finally discovered the pleasures of Devils Den.

I plan on patronizing that establishment again when I return.

I stayed at the Dusit D2 on that trip and was fortunate enough to have them give me a free upgrade to a suite which worked out just perfect for my 3-some with Luck and Sammi.

Aside from a few giggles and smiles from the staff at the check-in counter, they gave me no hassles or added fees for them both.

Possibly that was because I was in a suite, I didn’t ask.

But this trip I am going to concentrate on 2 guests, not just 1.

I’m sure there might be a night or two with only one but for planning purposes, I plan on 2 at a time each night.

I need to find a hotel that is not going to give me a hard time about this.

As much as I would like to return to the Dusit D2, the rates are dramatically more next month (high season) than they were in July which was low.

These are the hotels that I am looking at both for price and location.

I want to stay in the same area as Dusit D2 for convenience of Starbucks close by, Royal Garden Plaza, etc.

Here we go:

LK Renaissance
– very close to Devils Den and relatively reasonable.

Any experiences good or bad with this one and what is their policy on more than one guest?

Tim Boutique
– I have stayed here before and it has a big ass bed.

No internet though, at least not that I could get in my room.

Seems like there was some slow ass computer in the lobby.

Was June of 2010 when I was there and a lot of loud construction outside.

Only took one girl so never knew about 2?

Any thoughts?

Mercure

Have stayed here many times over the years, actually very first time in 2006 when I came to Thailand for first time ever.

I actually brought 2 back then but we went into the bar and kind of wandered up to the room after that.

Small rooms from what I remember.

But in a later trip I must have got someone at the desk that was in a mood as bringing even one turned out to be a 10 minute discussion as if I had booked for 1 or 2 (I booked for 2 as always).

Any thoughts on Mercure and their more than 1 policy?

last but not least.

I know these guys don’t care, charge like 500 baht for a 2
nd
.

While the location is good, and only 500 baht more for a 2
nd
one with no hassles, I have heard from a guy I know that he was not pleased with his last stay there.

Very thin walls, kind of run down, etc.

Cost is also a factor, to a degree. If It wasn’t then Dusit D2 would be a given.

Here is what I am looking at for these hotels based on
Agoda.com
and for 9 nights.

LK Renaissance $ 918.18

Tim Boutique $ 834.57

Mercure $ 672.21

$ 440.00

I would very much appreciate any and all reviews and/or comments.

I can say that right now I am leaning between LK Renaissance and Tim.

But again, 2 (or more) guests at a time is the #1 Priority….

Thanks in advance for an help I can get

If a 3some will be a regular thing, try booking for 3 right at the outset,

they will probably offer you a special price for your stay.

eg a friend is staying at Eastiny Plaza, for 50b more per nite for his stay,

he can have 2 guests

Nearly any guesthouse won't mind multiple guests

With the DD you can have your 3some right there

little over a month for me 2! :GrinNod1:

PBR does have thin walls, but I have never stayed in a hotel in Pattaya yet where I don't hear the neighbours at some point.
