pattaya is on alert

For anyone who has caught the shout box recently, pattaya has been put on high alert fro suspected terrorist bombs, see pattaya city news story:

the gist is that the authorities in patts have been doing controlled explosions of packages in and around Chonburi province (pattaya)

 

it has often been rumoured that Walking Street has been on alert in the past and that several times terrorist bombs had been plotted. but thankfully nothing to date has transpired.

 

i read an interesting fictionary article on stickman's site about the possible event of a bomb and the aftermath that ensued, it sent a tingle down my spine considering the carnage that such an event would cause.

 

Unfortunately, I do not think that any of us have the power to stop such an event happening, all we can do is raise awareness and be mindful of how unstable Thailand is at the moment.

 

I have experienced friends mongering out there now, i have called them and the first comment they gave is how quiet it is. Is there any wonder.

 

But they did inform me that there was farm fresh in town......

Great high note. lol. The idea of that happening on a busy night on Walking st. is mind numbing. Hope the authorities can keep things from getting real bad.
