Can anyone give an update on Fishing in Mabrachan Lake? Is it allowed? What fish species are in there? Where to hire equipment?

Leave your gear at home as it might be too light for some of the monsters that can be caught in the lakes around Pattaya. You can hire tackle at very reasonable prices.

Most places provide gear so don't worry about taking your own.

Don't remember the name of this place sorry, but fishing was good, caught about 5 this size which was just babies compared to some I saw being caught. Food and drink pretty cheap, all in all fishing in Patts is a fun cheap day out which the girls seem to enjoy too.

You don't fancy the Gulf? Fishing charter out for the day, all gear included, arrange food & beer too, try chasing some bigger fish. I been out a few times in the past and had good times, been ages since I last went. Actually organized a group from Patts to take a boat from Sattahip, this was some years back, got a much cheaper deal from Sattahip so it was worthwhile taking a bus down to Sattahip (30K)

Bangkok has a lake with 8 world records in it the Mekong catfish below was 60 inches longl and over 70lb. Helped a guy net one 120lb. Best if you hire a guid, Mr boomsong is top man on the lake.

Good fun Big Casino.
