Are domestic flights in Thailand reliable?

Ill be flying to CM in dec from BKK and CHiang mai to krabi or phuket

Just wandering if they are reliable times ,delays etc.

silly question but do Thais need passport or ID card for domestic flights?

Used Air Asia and Bangkok Air before... no problems at all although they get delayed sometimes.

An ID card is enough for Thais :)

I have used Bangkok Airways a few times and found them good.

Looked on Air Asia site and it stated on time performance for July was 80% , so it means 4 out of 5 was on time .

I was wondering about this too. I have flown domestically in Burma and though the airline was nice and on time, it was also govt. owned and I couldnt help but wonder if it was safe. Are the planes that fly from say BKK to Udon Thani jet's or are they some rickety wright brothers contraption that I'm imagining.

Generally they are pretty good for on time service.

80% would be about as good as they get though.
