Last night I decided to hit up Polo Agogo, which is on the west side of Walking Street, a little south of Soi Diamond. If you've noticed two glass-enclosed stripper poles with farang women in evening gowns dancing on them on the second floor of a building, with stairs between them leading up to the place, then that's the one. The farang girls are actually for Galaxy Erotic Cabaret, which is at the top of the stairs to the left. Polo is at the top of the stairs, straight in. I initially thought I was going into Galaxy because prior to going up the stairs, a farang girl gave me a small flier for Galaxy, and when I told her I'd check it out, she introduced me to some other farang woman who took me to what I thought was Galaxy, but turned out to be Polo. Odd.

 

The farang woman escorted (and what I mean by that is "followed") me into the place, showed me to a seat near the stage, and handed me a menu. I ordered my usual, a Bacardi/Coke, and saw it was going to cost me 250 THB. As for other drinks, there's no draft beer offered, bottled beers are 250 THB, tea and coffee both start out at 580 THB and go up to 980 THB, and bottles of alcohol start out at 3,550 THB. Food is available in the form of caviar, a cheese platter, a meat platter, or a mix of cheese and meat platter. I did not see a price for lady drinks, and I didn't purchase one while there, so I cannot report on how much those are. Once my drink was delivered, I was given the bill and had to pay immediately. As for the farang who followed me in, she disappeared while I was going through the menu. I guess my non-interest in her showed and she was able to take a hint.

 

The decor inside was nice and included one LCD television. The seating consists of very comfortable couches and love seats. In fact, I didn't see a single stool in the place. The seating area is arranged around the only stage, which is a large stage (similar to what you'd see in a theater), with a slender stage shooting off from the middle of the wide one. On the stage was a total of 3 Thai girls. Yes, that's right...3, and they were all THAI. It was some sort of bait-and-switch, and I decided this was the first and last drink I'd ever have in the place.

 

Not to be completely negative, there was one good aspect and that was the pole dancing expertise of the Thai girls dancing there. Most girls in agogos don't know what to do with the stripper pole other than as a place to put their hands while they sway back and forth. However, in Polo, the girls were climbing to the top of it, spinning around it upside down while only their legs held them on, etc. It was actually entertaining to watch for a while.

 

Sorry for the lack of photos. I will update this thread with a photo of the outside of the establishment when I get a chance.

Sounds like you went into Polo. Galaxy is to the left at the top of the stairs, Polo is straight ahead. Polo has thai girls, Galaxy as Eastern European girls. The Thai girls are better. Polo used to be my favorite 6-7 years ago, now it's just a tourist trap. Galaxy is a total rip-off, the Eastern European girls expect a tip from each customer after every dance. Keep your legs crossed so they can't kick you in the balls when you refuse.

Also prior to walking in, I was given a small flier from one of their greeters, which reads in part "More than 40 Beautiful Girls from Russia." Okay, so far, so good.

While the flier I was given states "Exclusive Entertainment, Great Music, Table Dances, Erotic Show, Private Rooms," In the 30 minutes I was there I didn't see any of that. Just as I didn't see the "Only European Girls," nor "More than 40 Beautiful Girls From Russia." Galaxy Erotic Cabaret really needs to update their advertising verbiage.

It’s a scam. I had a look once next door, straight on behind the stairs, in the new Polo (which bears not the least resemblance to the old one). There was nobody on stage and they asked 300 baht for a Heineken. I preferred to leave.

Both bars are under the same management. I was only in Galaxy once, shortly after it opened about 3-4 years ago, never again. It was up the stairs and to the left, the bar was much smaller than Polo. They used to have Thai girls dancing on the steps that you could bar fine for 500, or you could bar fine the stage girls for 1000. Most of the Eastern European girls looked like they belonged in Thermae.

 

I've stopped in Polo to check it out when it reopened after remodeling, but I've only been in Galaxy once (a Thai girl asked me to take her there). Perhaps the bar to the left has been closed and they've consolidated, I don't know because I don't go there anymore.
