Consolidated Agogo Information

Pictorial Reviews

Recommended Posts

As I complete more agogo reports, it will become increasingly difficult for you all to quickly scan the reports for information that might be of interest to you for comparison purposes. That is where the attached spreadsheet will help. An updated spreadsheet will be posted as each agogo report is completed.

I've decided to highlight particularly good information in green, bad in red, and yellow if it may be of some concern. I think doing that will be helpful when there are 25+ agogos listed.

The spreadsheet is not protected, so you all are free to make changes to it as you see fit; for example deleting a column you don't find useful. If you all would like me to make changes, I'm open to suggestions. That being said, the spreadsheet isn't meant to contain all the information I've listed in the reports, but rather provide board members with a quick way to compare the various agogos on things most cared about by those on Pattaya-Addicts.

Please keep in mind the spreadsheet is meant to be used as a guideline and is not set in stone. Agogos can and do change their prices and amenities without notifying me of them doing so. Therefore, double-check with the agogo before committing to anything. If you all see a discrepancy, please help us keep this as current as possible by posting about it in this thread so I can update the spreadsheet.

If you don't have Excel on your computer Google Docs will open the spreadsheet. https://docs.google.com/ Find the Getting Started button, then find the Upload button and upload the file from your computer. The file will be converted and opened. Thanks to BM philrenshaw for that handy bit of information.

***Please check the most recent post by me in this thread for the updated spreadsheet.***

This is a great project you are working on man, I look forward to seeing it grow. Happy to give some feedback.

I think the PDF could be fine for most as we just want to see the info.

Maybe switch the orientation of the list with each gogo's info into a column below the name, or find some other way to keep a single gogo's info on one page. As it is now the list stretches over several pages and only the first page has the gogo's name. It would get really confusing after it fills in with a dozen or more gogos. (edit: switch to 'landscape' page and shrink the font?)

Under the column "BF waitress" and "BF sign girl" I guessing NO means they are not available for BF? I'd count that as worth a red or yellow color.

The Excel would be the preferred type of file and would fix those things you mentioned. On the Excel version, the agogos name is on the left, with it's information listed to the right of the name (the topics are all across the top). In addition, all the information is on one page rather than the multiple-paged PDF file. Having the information on an Excel page will also allow people to sort the information in various ways in case they want it slightly different than the way I provide it to them. I just uploaded the PDF version to give you all a peek of the information it contains until I'm allow permission to upload Excel files.

You're correct in that "No" means sign girls and waitresses aren't bar finable, although you never know if exceptions can be made. I suppose I could include a third color (yellow) for some information, such as that you mentioned. I'll give it a trial run and it will be implemented in the next upload.

Thanks for the response.

Being able to compare all the gogos in one place is a superb idea.

Be watching to see how this one develops but I have a feeling that it is going to be really popular.

Looking good.

One thing is not clear to me:

In your example you list Bar Fines for SWhowgirls at all 3 places, yet only one of the places is Yes for "Shows." I understand an official Show may be different than simply classifying girls as SWhowgirls.

My assumption, which may be wrong, is that SWhowgirls usually get nude on stage while regular dancers are in costumes/bikinis or maybe topless. For example, in Iron Club, I'd call the girls on the front stage Dancers and the ones on the back (naked) stage SWhowgirls. Or in Baby Dolls the girls on the right hand stage with the poles are Dancers while the ones on the left doing the Lesbian show are SWhowgirls. In Angelwitch, on the other hand, there are official shows but the girls in them don't get totally naked (however I assume they are still called Showgirls--and a ShowLadyGirl) while in between shows the girls on stage are simply Dancers. If my assumption is correct, you lack a Bar Fine for Dancers column.

There are usually fewer naked girls. I assume they are paid more and the bar would like to keep them around, so they would have a higher bar fine. But I'm not an expert, having just been in town once.

Anyway, keep up the good work. I leave November 1 and hope to see a nice big spreadsheet before I take off.

Okay, I've uploaded the Excel spreadsheet in the main post (replaced the PDF file).

A few things about it...

1. It lists the lowest price for a drink. In other words, Baby Doll's lowest priced bottle of alcohol is 1000 THB, but the prices go up from there.

2. It's color coded to make good, little bit bad, and bad things more easily viewed.

3. It's not protected, so you all can make changes as you see fit (such as deleting a column or sorting).

4. SWhowgirls are girls who come out on stage and perform a special show. In Baby Dolls, I've counted the girls as you enter to the left as SWhowgirls.

5. "BF" = Bar Fine and applies to the majority of the dancers in the agogo. In some instances where the price varies a bit depending on what the girl wears, two prices are listed, for example: "5/600 THB" is 500 THB to 600 THB.

5. Many agogos have different little things they go by (who they consider SWhowgirls or whatever), and change prices on occasion. I will try my very best to keep the spreadsheet as accurate as possible, but please keep in mind it's a guideline and not set in stone. Please confirm all prices prior to making a purchase. And since I don't go to every agogo every night, and check all their prices, if you all could help me out by listing any price changes you may notice that differ from the spreadsheet, it would be appreciated, and help me keep everyone as informed as possible.

If I've failed to explain something clearly, or if you all have any questions about this, please let me know. It's much easier to get all this sorted out now rather than waiting until there are 30 agogos listed and then trying to do it.

It looks much better as a SS, you were right. It will still get a little overwhelming when it's filled in with dozens of gogos but that's probably the nature of the beast.

It might make sense to group the columns into related categories. Here is what I came up with after playing with it a bit:

Agogo

Website

Founded

Open/Close

Happy Hour

No. Dancers

PP Balls

Shows

Hot Tub

Levels

Hands On

ST Rooms

Weekly Parties / Food Served

Draft Beer

Mixed Drink

Liquor Bottle

Lady Drink

BF

BF Post 1:30AM

BF Showgirl

BF Hot Tub Girl

BF Sign Girl

BF Waitress

Pay In Advance

Are there agogos the play anything other than dance tunes? I suppose the one on LK Metro...Kiss something or another does (rock music), but I can't think of any others.

I'm trying to keep the list somewhat reasonable in length, which is why I'm hesitant to add another column for something that I don't think would effect most agogos. However, if people can tell me if there are agogos (other than that one I mentioned) playing something other than dance music, I'll add the column for you.

Thats only if you print it. If you view it on screen you can just scroll.

You can 'freeze panes' to make the gogo names and headings stay where they are when you scroll across or down when more are added.

Also if you do want to print it you can select for the columns headers and/or the rows to be repeated on each page so you can see them.

Luco...good point about freezing the panes. I went ahead and did that, as well as moved a few columns around. The new spreadsheet has now replaced the old one in the initial post.

I'd like to get some feedback on the color thing (red, yellow, green). Is it making the spreadsheet difficult to follow/read? Personally, I like the colors, but if a lot of people don't I can just highlight all the cells and take out the color before uploading it (or those who don't like the color can do that themselves).

I have a few non-agogo reports to do over the coming days, but then want to get back to focusing on the agogos because I know a lot of members will be coming here November-February for high season and it would be beneficial to them if I can get a lot of the newer agogos done prior to their arrival.

I like the color coding and I like that is is used sparingly, it is developing into a framework for a great resource.

One more data point that might be worth a column for down the road; date of last review.

A "Date of Last Review" or something similar would be a good column.

How's the font? I may enlarge it one or two sizes to make it easier on everyone's eyes.

Good stuff.

Can you hyperlink the bar's website info in Column B. All that cut and paste wears a man out.

Good idea, but I did one better. Rather than having a separate column for the website, I hyperlinked the agogo's name to their website, allowing me to remove that "Website" column. This helps shorten the spreadsheet so a lot of scrolling isn't necessary. I've attached the new one and started putting a date of when the new one gets attached so you all will know if you have the latest version or not.

Thanks for the idea and welcome to the forum.

Here's the most recent spreadsheet. The agogo's name is now hyperlinked to it's corresponding report and I made a new column for the agogo's website, which is also hyperlinked.

I suppose there's a reason not to list the prices for ST/LT, but I would list a range based on the lowest price claimed to have paid as well as the higher end of the scale. I guess you could look at other threads on this forum for that but something I'd personally put in.

And maybe group go go's according to general location, like Walking Street, and other areas for easy reference.

Another thing is whether smoking is allowed or not allowed (despite what signs may post).

One other thing I would think ideal (but understandably hard to do) is to see if an establishment is 'LT friendly,' meaning based on reports if LT bar fines cut out early. Yes that's a bit of a nitpick and hard to quantify but there are many guys that are into long times so thought it would be cool.

I like the idea of grouping the agogos based on location and will do that. As for smoking/non-smoking, I cannot list that because it's not legal to smoke in ANY of the agogos, which is why you see non-smoking signs everywhere. The last thing I want to do is start jamming up agogos because I mentioned you could smoke inside their place. The same thing goes for nudity...won't be mentioned. I hope you can understand that.

The problem with listing ST/LT prices isn't necessarily the range of the prices, but that it's generally up to the individual girls rather than something set by the agogo. The last thing I want to do is put a girl on the spot by listing LT = 2,500 THB and then she requests 3,000 THB because she needs a little extra or the guy asking for the LT isn't someone she really wants to go with, and then he whips out a copy of this spreadsheet and points out that she's supposed to go for 2,500 THB. 555!

The same thing would be "LT Friendly." A girl could have a great time with some guy she connects with, and then a horrible time with me and make some excuse to leave early. I doubt a girl who leaves early doesn't leave early every time. In addition, a girl who's a starfish with one guy could be a porn star with another guy. And with agogos employing up to 60 women, how am I supposed to decide if the girls there are LT Friendly or not? 20 might not be, so would that be a "no" under the column? Not to mention the girls change agogos like they change their underwear. So a girl who's a bad LT may change agogos, making the report of the agogo no longer valid if I was to list that type of information.

I'd rather let you all speak about performance of individual girls in the regular sections of the forum, and keep this section focused on the agogos themselves and based on facts. An actual person (the girls, for instance) is too hard to predict as far as what they're going to do every time or how much money they're going to ask for from day to day.

Here's the new spreadsheet. The information is sorted first by location (alphabetical order), and then by the name of the agogo (alphabetical order). Thanks for all the suggestions...it will make the spreadsheet that much better.

Very great project you are working on. Hope you finish it as son as is possible. In my opinion, the spreadsheet is much better because we can use Filter option to sort Ago go bars in different ways according data that we are looking for. Let me thanks you a lot for your efforts.

I'm hitting some agogos this week to add to the spreadsheet. Being two of the newer ones than some of you may not have been able to go to yet but are curious about, Alcatraz and Fahrenheit are both on the hit list. I'm debating if I'll do a full review (separate thread) for them or if I'll just add their details to the spreadsheet.

My thoughts on that are if a business owner agrees to meet up with me and allow me to take some pictures, then I'll have enough information for a proper thread. If the business has no interest in speaking with me (and keep in mind I represent you all), then why should they receive free advertising when they clearly don't want it? In a case such as that, I'll just collect the information needed for the spreadsheet and move on. How do you all feel about that?
