Lunch Buffet at News Steaks and Grill, Jomtien

Visited "News Steaks and Grill" (formally known as the News Cafe) last Saturday for their lunch buffet. They have a lunch buffet on Saturday and Sunday from 1200 to 1600. It is located in Jomtien on the Thapraya Road. On the left hand side as you go from Pattaya to Jomtien. See Location.

 

In the buffet they served Green salad with thin-sliced chicken and a ceasar-type dressing, bread, pasta salad, seafood salad, and potato salad, chicken wings, satay chicken, pepper beef, Swedish meatballs, pytti panna (see Pyttipanna), BBQ ribs, and fresh fruit.

 

I thought that all the food was of good quality and very tasty. I suspect a lot of calories in many of the dishes. Definitely could not eat this every day. I would gain 10 kilos a month. They did not serve Thai dishes on the buffet. So if you bring a Thai guest and she (or he) does not like falang food, you will need to order Thai food off the menu. The cost was 199 baht including tax and 40 baht for a bottle of water. The only negative comment I would make is that I thought 40 baht was a bit much for a bottle of water. But that is probably a small negative. Overall, it was a decent buffet at a decent price. I will give them additional visits.
