Prescription Meds

I have been "lurking" in the backround here for some time...I finally registered today...With that out of the way, here is my question....

 

I am disabled and take monthly medications...Some of the meds are pain medicine...

 

1) Can I bring them into the country, as long as they are in the original bottle with Scropt info on it?

2) I plan to try and stay more than a month...How do I get them refilled?

3) Will a doctor there take copies of my medical records for that purpose, or will they want to start from scratch??

If your medication is in the original bottle from the pharmacy and the prescription is in your name, you will have no problem.

 

Don't know what to tell you about getting refills. Sent from another country, they would have to clear Thai customs and that could be difficult.

 

If you plan to see a Thai doctor for the same problems, definitely bring copies of all pertinent medical records.

My advice would be to bring what you need to use during your trip and a letter from your doctor stating what they are for.

Most medication can be obtained from one of the big pharmacy's (Fascino) without prescription.
