Thai Airways First Class

I want to book a flight from Europe to BKK for next week in first class. I will be connecting from the US and can choose London, Frankfurt or Zurich on either a 747 or A340. Does anyone know if the seats have been upgraded on these planes and how is there service. ( I'm a poor man using miles ) Also if there's any benefits when I arrive in bkk with immigration?

:ThumbUp6:

One more thing, does anyone know if sunshine hotels pool is open yet ? or how is the Sunbeam hotel?

Thanks

I don't know about any changes in the seats but the 'old' one were great with virtually everything adjustable. At Bangkok you will be first off of the plane and will be met by somebody in a buggy who will drive you to immigration. My form was laready filled in for me and just had to be signed. You will then be escorted to collect your luggage and to the airport forecourt.

On the return leg somebody will check you in while you sit down then buggy through immigration and to the first class lounge which has several mini-lounges for a bit of privacy. There is also a comlpimentary foot and upper body massage and sauna. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Thanks for the reply.

I glad I can save the long walk to immigration. At 300 pound I only fly business or first class and there's big diffence with some airlines. I took emirates last year and you get your own suite with a mini bar at your seat and escorted everywhere and then took EVA with shitty seats a treated like a coach passenger.

If Thai air would give bj's I would give up the suite.

The only downside to flying with Thai is the age of their planes however IMO the comfort and service outweighs this issue.

I flew first with them in August and September and I reckon that it takes some beating. On the return leg there were only six of us in the cabin so the service was even more impressive.

Here are a few pics that I took on the way out last time. In one of the seat and foot rest before they are folded down to make the bed. Apologies for the quality as they were taken on my phone.

Starters.

Main course, a top notch curry.

Desert. There was plenty more on offer; ice cream, cheese, port etc. but I am not a big eater / drinker when flying.

Seat with bed undersheet attached.

Pyjamas on!

I will also confirm them pics are from Thai First class cabin & its great.

London to Bangkok they use 747 Jumbo boeing planes & its top notch.

I have flown Thai First class about 3 times in them seats & they are the current seats but over the next 2 years are being upgraded.

Here are a few quick pics of mine to also help you & if you are sold on the pics you will enjoy the flight believe me.

When you get of the Aircraft they will take you to fast track in a golf buggy & its all very nice.

Direct is always best IMO.

And if you're coming across the Pacific Thai runs those same 777s from Tokyo to Bangkok as well. I find Thai first class service to be really good... but missing some of the little touches that you find with Lufthansa and Cathay.

Good spot mate, you must have eyes like a hawk!!

The best engine in the world is the vagina. It can be started with one finger. It is self-lubricating. It takes any size piston. And changes its own oil every four weeks. It is only a pity that the management system is so fucking temperamental.

You were 100% correct.11 minutes from stepping of the plane to arrival hall, forgot to pick up a bottle of bailys. returning my flight to zurich had no first class due to change of aircraft, so they asked if I wanted to fly swiss air or fly via LHR. I took the LHR flight so I got to fly both the airbus and 747 and they used the same seats. the first class lounge is great and serves good food before your flight. good job thai air and thanks Dr

Thanks for the pics and info. When deciding on seats, airlines, and airplanes - check out Seat Guru and or Skytrax 1st. In 1st it really doesn't matter much though - the worst is fabulous. I like your style - $13,000 for your flight and $30 for your hotel, eh. wj
