Hallo addicts,

floods have hit Thailand bad again. I've heard that Pattaya has been hit badly as well. I was planning to get there next week - can anyone tell me if it's still a good idea or if the town is mainly cleaning up? Thanks in advance!

Go now and you probably wouldn't even know that it was flooded. Don't let the news stop you from having a great holiday. The Thais are very used to it flooding from time to time and life goes on.

I have been there last year, September and October.. Rains everyday but only a few hours and the flood is not dangerous, Normal to the thai, you will get the hang of it in a day , it goes away in few hours too... You will be grand, Go and Enjoy ...

The water dissapears as quickly as it appears. I wouldn't worry to much about it if I were you.

This Happened last year outside my hotel and was gone by the time I got up.

You have the right to remain silent, anything you do say will be taken out of context and used against you!

Don't sweat it. We got it bad (the worst I've ever seen) on the 11th but by late on the 12th things were pretty much back to normal.

It was one day and most guys got stranded at their hotel and had to spend the day in bed with their bar fine, boo hoo.

Yeah i was on Walking Street when it started, the water was up to kerb height. We decided to go to casino and by the time i came back out it was knee deep on Walking Street and second road.I never seen this before in Pattaya but was amazed how quickly it dissappeared and things back to normal.I heard rumours crocodiles had escaped from a farm and were on the loose wether this was true i don't know!

Hi folks,

it rained strongly and the sewerage was not be able to cover it.

What is easyer to limit the rain or to build better sewerage?

I have never seen anything like it,but like everybody says it goes as fast as it comes.

But what ever you do don't wade through that crap ,or you will end up with an infection of some kind.

Yes that was true too. I live 400 metres from the farm and around 100 big boys escaped. Usual reason - Thai developers want the money but forget to build suitable enclosures, big rains bring big erosion and the enclosure wall disintegrated. 4 to 5 metre snappers on the loose. Salt water so head downhill to the sea. Scabby headed hounds tasty morsels, no locals reported missing.

Current news is that they have caught 'most' of them. Be wary near the Croc Farm !!!!
