I'm still in the planning stages but would like to begin nailing down details soon. Here's what I do know:

 

* holiday November 25-December 31

* a buddy may join me for a portion of that time, 2-3 weeks, maybe longer

* will likely get out of Pattaya for a bit, islands or even Myanmar for a week or two

 

Not traveled with a mate in some time so I'm wondering if it wouldn't be cheaper to find a two bedroom apartment to use as a base. Possibly cheaper even if we do wander off to Koh Chang for a week. Last year left Christmas Day. Came with only few days reservations and ended up spending most of my time at the Apex which was fine by my standards. That central area near LK Metro was a good location I thought.

 

Here are my questions I suppose:

 

* where would you look for a one month lease on a two bedroom condo at budget friendly pricing dependable enough to book in advance

* what location? Pros and Cons: Central, Jomtien, Pratumnak Hill, Naklua, etc? Baht bus ok for all?

* should I book a couple nights at the Apex and just look when we get there?

* are there no saving to be had if I'm outside Pattaya more than X days

 

I figure 30 days at the Apex is 18,000B per person. I just need the basics: clean bed, small kitchen, wi-fi, safe and easy to catch transport to LK Metro and WS. Do have concerns about locking something in for the high season.
