HI , Would you recommend Selina place for a stay of 23 days , how does it compare to other guesthouses in Pattaya .?

for a long stay, the price is cheap i think, better to pay the one month price than the per day rate. I dont really know about other guesthouses, but had some bad experiences before, mainly about cleanliness. This place is very clean, the soi in near south pattaya so easy to grab a 10 bath tuktuk.

Walking Street is 15 mn walking distance which is not bad also for those who dont mind to walk a little like me.

I stayed in the Areca Lodge during my last trip to Pattaya. The room was spotless, the hotel grounds beautiful, and the staff friendly. The only issue is the lack of double glazing on the sliding door and windows. If you're just settling into bed after a long night, the last thing you want to hear is multiple roosters greeting the morning. Yep - every morning as soon as the sun comes up.

All of the hotels mentioned are girlfriendy, but are there hotels on the list that 'refuse' girls +18 but -20? Or hotels that ask a joiner fee for a third person (second girl)?

can you add some info on joiner fees... i know from experience that August and April are charging 500 Baht for each additional guest above the double occupancy, even if just for a quick visit during the day.

At L.K.Legend the joiner fee is 500 baht per girl since last June.

I am making my first trip and staying at the Pattaya Bay Resort. Good choice or should I stay look elsewhere? Thanks.

The Pattaya Bay Resort is a good choice and good location for the night life, the only negative point its the new constructions on Soi 15 which will generated additional noise and traffic. Some people don't care about noise for me it will be a no go without hesitation, this situation will also be valid near the Areca Lodge.

I can add that at Selina place, the second girl is charged 400 baths and for monthly rate, cleaning is twice a week for that price.

Which popular hotel is the one that won't allow any guests unless they're over 20? It's a small thing, but kind of annoying.

In any case, Pattaya visitors are absolutely spoiled for hotel choices. I was recently looking at hotels in Angeles City and the pickings were much slimmer.

Thank you for clarifying , i spoke to her and booked already . If you look at the website it seems that it compares well to a 3 star hotel?? except no pool , gym or breakfast but the rooms have a safe , shower , daily cleaning and is guestfriendly .Last time i was in Pattaya we only had breakfast 2 x times in the hotel because of getting up too late and there are many places in Pattaya where thay serve good breakfast.

I have never tried any of them. I am in Pat usually out of high season so I have a great range of choice, but according Quality-Money and location LK Manison is the best for me.

  • 2 weeks later...

How far away is April Suites from all the action like Soi 6. Is it walkable?

Thanks

April Suites is in a small alley off Second Rd., close to the crossing with Pattaya Klang and a 10-15 minute walk from Soi 6 (going north). I can only recommend it. Stayed there in June, everything is clean and modern, and the only thing about that was a big minus for me was the NO SMOKING-policy in ALL the rooms. And they are really sending around sniffer spys to check up on you! I smoked on the balcony, no probs, but then I was accused of smoking inside the room as a bit of smoke had drifted in through the bathroom window. I wouldn't stay there for a longer period because of that Big Mother mentality, but for a few days it's excellent!

I have stayed at different hotels on various occasions in Pattaya but I really prefer going back to stay at the Beverly Plaza hotel which runs about 25-30 dollars a night. It's at the south end of Walking Street and far enough away from the last disco so its quiet but close enough to walk to and from the nightlife. I feel more comfortable with the layed back atmosphere and I like the familiar surroundings to which I've become accustomed. The Beverly may not be for everyone but it's an OK place to stay for the amount you pay and if you add up the convenience of being within walking distance without the noise, it's a game changer for me as I really don't like staying where I have to take tuk tuks or taxis back and forth for a week or two. If I were to stay longer than a week in Pattaya, I'd look for something as close to Walking Street and central Pattaya but do it at night so you know where NOT to stay as noise is one of my main issues when staying anywhere. Avoid late hotels near late night discos or places that really crank the volume up.

Stayed in Areca Lodge Evergreen wing on the last two or three trips. I have been very happy with room and location is the best possible for me. I love to spend my afternoons at hotel pool and on my last trip in April-May this year the water in Areca pool was not the cleanest I've seen.

So decided to try Dusit D2 out now in November.

location wise and quality of the rooms, I find LK metropole and Areca Lodge are excellent value for your money. Close to action of soi LK Metro and soi bua khao. walking distance to Devils Den, bliss lounge, lolitas and couple of good go go bars. some good bars on soi diana. Also not far from beach road and Walking Street. you can't go wrong with these choices.

According to agoda stats, these are the top 14 hotels in Pattaya that our forum members stay at. (not in order)

Most of these hotels get full especially during high season, so its good to prebook them early! Then you don't need to find another hotel (disturb your mongering) and so you don't use your short time cash on hotel funds.

They are all girl friendly, if any policies change on that, I will remove them from our poll.

Please vote, which one is the all round best? price, location and quality

I have always enjoyed the Pattaya Bay Resort. Great people run it. Been there a few times and I keep returning. Kim is the owner , an American doctor who found the right path.

The front desk girls are very good, and never a worry about my room when out carousing. When the girl leaves your room and gets back her ID from the front desk. The front desk calls your room to see if everything is ok.

I know it isn't a selling point...but, I do like that touch.

If I have to stay at the Hotel, Areca Lodge is simply the BEST in Quality/Money!

I'm glad you said this, my 1st time to Patts and my mate has just booked us in at Areca for 10 nights in December.

Cheer

The last couple of times that I`ve stayd in Pats it was at the A1 Royal Cruise hotel on Beach Road. In the past it has been good value, clean, good buffet and importantly very girl friendly. However when i stayed this year it was full of Koreans, I was the only weterner and their policy on girls appears to have changed and they are no longer girl friendly. Time for a change!

What would be a affordable hotel in the range of $40 per night. I'm looking for something close to the action, yet not to loud. A pool would be a plus. I was looking at Secrets, but they have no pool. I'm looking at April Suites, but I would have to increase my budget to $50 per night.
