BKK airport this Friday

Recommended Posts

This Friday I have an international flight departing Suvannaphum at 12:50. I plan on having the taxi pick me up at Pattaya Tai at 09:00.

Every time I've taken a taxi from Patts to BKK airport it seems to take approx' 90 minutes. So I expect to be at the airport around 10:30 - 10:45, which is within the requested check in 2 hours before departure.

Does this sound OK to you guys? Or do you think I should leave earlier? Would traffic be extra heavy around 9AM - 10AM Friday mornings?

Should be fine. Who are you flying with? Generally most airlines allow you to check in online. I'd do this and then at the airport there is usually a dedicated queue for a bag drop/Internet check in which is shorter than the normal check in line.

I rather go sooner than later. This time is transportation easy and quickly than years before (transport across BKG) but you meet some crash on the way and problems can start. It is not good idea save little bit time in Patts when you can have problem catch your aeroplane.

Flying Jet Star to S'Pore, couple hours at Changi, then next Jet Star flight to Perth.

I'll check their website and see if I can check in online, that would streamline things real nice.

Seems like the 9AM departure will get me there in plenty of time. In the event of a crash or taxi breakdown then I'll be waving down the first taxi I see and be changing cars pronto.

No I would depart 0830 rather than 0900.

I always take the cautious approach and have never been close to missing any one of 281 flights to or from Bangkok.

And at the end of the day you just prolong the agony of pulling away from funtown !!

I've already checked in by internet, and they tell me I got to be there 90 minutes before departure not 2 hours, so I'll still leave here at 9am but I'll now have an extra 30 minutes up my sleeve, it's OK, I'll have a meal in that basement food court. Thanks for all your advice guys...

By the way, no agony at all, I've had a gutsfull of Pattaya for the time being and really looking forward to spending summer in Perth.

Last time I used Swampie, I was kindly asked after check in to proceed to Immigration asap. Long queues due to refurbishment of immigration section. This was end of July.

I arrived at the airport 3 hours prior to departure and there was only half an hour left!

the self check in terminals when flying with Thai airways are brilliant, cuts down waitng time by up to an hour, but ive also waited 1.5 hours to clear passport control, i reckon you will be sweet leaving at 9AM

she asked "do you lub me?" i replied "i lub fucking you!"
