you should have a look at the Dancewatchers website. They have rooms in 2 different buildings at the jomtien area: View tallay 2A and view tallay 5C.

I believe i have seen 2 rooms with washer, but i'm not shure, but they have laundry at the builing i think.

There is also a Tony gym very close to view tallay 2A.

I'm staying at VT2A in november, it will be my first time, but i have only heard positive things about the dancewatcher rooms, never anything bad.

Just check out the website (thats the only downpoint, the site is a bit of a maze, but you'll find everything eventualy :P ) :

Hey Doctor Sam:

Thanks so much for your reply. I appreciate it very much. I appreciate the link you left having to do with Condo and Apartment rentals. I took a look at it and it is a great site. I saw more than a few apartments that I would have otherwise been interested in however, every unit I had an interest in was already rented or partcially rented during the time that I want to be in Pattaya. What can I say. I will keep looking at the site and see if there might be any changes. Thanks, Amante

Hello, because you wanna stay for 6 months, you can afford to "loose" a few days.

So, just walk in or book, in advance, a hotel for a few days, then you wil have a place to goto on arrival.

During these few days, visit some small, thai runned travelagencys. (you find them in almoste every street)

Ask them if they can get a (serviced) appartment for you, and tell them in wich area you wanna stay.

That wil be the most economic way to find a place.

Because you are in Pat's already, you can go and have a look at the places before you book.

You wil loose some bath on the price for the few days you stay in a hotel (or guesthouse), but, at the end you wil gain bath

because these travelagencys wil find you the most economic places.

Even more, you can book trough one of these travelagencys for 1 month, and then speak to the manager for a longer stay

while you are staying there.

You stay for 6 months ? Then i suppose you would like to change places more then once.. 6 months at the same

place is a long time.

Eventualy, you wil find the place you would like to stay for the rest of the 6 months.

The Urban is pretty good although both of the units I looked at for rent a few months back had clear glass windows for toilet doors. Basically sliding shower doors. Personally I'd like a door that offers privacy otherwise, what's the point of having one. Other than that, they were nice for the price and the location is good.

Look up on Pratamnak Hill as well. Lots of really nice condos for rent at good prices and you can hop a baht bus to WS or anywhere on 2nd Rd 24 hours a day. Perhaps a little walk depending on how far off Pratamnak Rd you are but it's a great area aside from the soi that the Russians have taken over (forget which one it was).

I agree with halleman about staying in a hotel first and checking out condos for rent in person. If you can, even see if you can rent the condo for a night or two first to make sure it's to your liking.

I've stayed in far too many places that seemed nice online and ended up having major issues. Or even places that seemed ok when I saw them in person, then the first night I stay there I end up listening to some falang scream at his Thai chick in Italian at 5am, roosters crowing at 6am and dogs barking and construction going on all day.

I took a look at the site you recommended. Took a look at the floor plans. Which floor plan do you have? Amante

I did a quick google search and found my Neighbor's Condo. I recognize it, because I rented it for one month when my Son was here. Now it is rented by a pretty coll European girl.

Anyway, we have basically the same layout and similar furniture (Except my couch is black, not yellow)

It is 2 flat screen T.V.'s and a washing machine. It has everything you need ( Cookware, plates, Microwave, Toaster, sheets, etc.).

He has his posted at 25,000 ( the average rate there). For 6 months to a year- I am asking 20,000 Baht.

Dear Angelo: Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it. Yep, that is probably what I going to do. Just before I left in April I did some looking and have an idea of where I want to stay but it is impossible to see everything or know where everthing is. I think that my thought in starting this thread was to find out what you guys know that I dont know. I was hoping that someone knew of a really great spot in Pattaya that I had not discovered yet. Thanks again and if you hear of anything special or something comes to your mind please pass it on. Amante

Not a problem. Although, just to let you know, mine does not have a clear glass window...But, I know what you are talking about. Thad would bug me as well.

Expat Dave. How is it going sir. Thank you for your reply. I took a look at that apartment. Nice. Curious as to what the square meters is? It doesnt seem to be that sizeable, especially for 20 to 25 thousand baht per month. Let me know. Thanks. Amante

He said it is inclusive of everything but he gets it at a really good price because he has signed up for a year.

Is it easy enough to get around from here using baht buses and motorbike taxis and walking as I don't drive a bike?

Maxxcentral is one minute walking to 3rd road and 5 minutes walking to Soi Bukhaow, there are motorbike taxis just next the condominium.

Best to phone or come to the place for more information, occupation is always very high and it seems they not always answer the @mails

also it looks one will start building just next .

Thanks for the link. Only doing six months at a time. The deal seems to be representative of a one year contract. Did I understand your remarks correctly? Amante
