Camera repairs in Pattaya

Busted my amost new Canon Powershot ELPH 100HS by dropping on floor and put a dent in the lens mechanism. Sure that the visible damage will void any warranty from Canon. Has anyone tried to have a camera repaired in Pattaya and had good results?

The zoom lens on my Olympus SP590 jammed last trip. I took it to the place in the basement of Tuk-Com (down the escalators and turn to the right). Bloke looked at it for about 10 seconds, said 'no problem 2,000 baht', and I picked it back up 2 days later, all fixed. I think the guys in there can probably fix just about anything, however if you need a new part fitted (if that's the problem) obviously it would take longer.

You could always claim on your travel insurance, might be able to get a new camera out of it.............. (Edit - I just noticed your place of residence is Pattaya, so you probably don't have travel insurance.)

Cheers

Ok went to Amorn Electronic Center Spare Part Co.,Ltd in the basement of Tuk-Com. Was quoted 1800 baht for repair and two days. Actually took three days but one day was lost because of flooding on Sept10/11. Works perfectly now. Cost exactly 1800 baht that I was quoted, cannot recommend highly enough based on this experience.
