Anyone been questioned in detail at your home country airport immigration after vacation?

last time when i got back together with my mate we where asked to come to the room so they can check the stuff

The girl asked the normal questions about how long what u do, don't find that intimidating since i regard it as small talk,

as long there are more question about details

she sure must have had some ideas about what was also on the agenda of the Trip since she found a bunch of unused condoms and some unused apcialis

but no problem with that, also not with the dvd's and Wii games, (just a few and one each)

As you grow older, you'll find the only things you regret are the things you didn't do.

yes last time back to the states in April this year ,Got the guy a little pissed off and he called his boss on me . Asked how long I was in Thailand ---I don't know maybe a few weeks . Asked me "you don't know how long you was gone --No maybe 14 days or so . How much money do you have --maybe a few grand . So you don't know how much money you have --I said a few grand ,I don't keep track . How many times you been to Thailand --you have my passport look it up . What was you doing in Thailand --drinking and partying . How many times have you been ---I said look it up your going to do it any way ..................Then he called the boss and I told him lets go to the back room here and I will get naked and you can toss my bag and we will get this over with . He told me to leave the area and calm down . I told him his boy had no right to ask me any thing like he did ,and the offer still stood about me getting buck ass naked and tossing my bag . He then told me to move on he did not want to look in my bag and there was no need for me to get naked -------------------------- Still mad at that little fat ass dick head in Detroit

He was little bit obtrusive and envious. It was not correct officer but annoying idiot.

I'm a blues musician and one time I had a small case with about 10 harmonicas in it, all in different keys, Mr Custom man was stumped on that and asked why I had so many. I told him - different keys. He still had trouble with that and kept looking at them and said - I can't understand why you have so many. This guy also pulled me up for having 2 watches - one being a divers watch and the other a dress watch. I sometimes wonder about the IQ of some of these customs officers in Australia.

He think you had for bussiness. Some thing you can have only for one is personal use. When you have for personal using is it tax free. When you have for bussiness you have to pay customs duty and another tax.

This is an interesting thread, and actually brings up a question on my part.

So far, I only got questioned once when coming back from Thailand, and that was easy, as every time I go I actually also do legitimate tourist stuff in addition to a stay in Pattaya, so I always have a good story that is based on reality. However, my next trip is to Angeles City in the Phillipines. Now, as far as I can tell, there are no legitimate tourist activities in that place, the only reason to go there is to have sex with the Filipina girls. So, if asked, what would you tell the US immigration guy as the reason for the visit? My flight actually leaves from Angeles City (on Asiana Airlines) rather than Manila, so he will know exactly where I am coming from.

I don't have to talk to immigration here on arrival so no questions to be asked. And I am coming from Hong Kong so it is not so obvious as there is a lot of business travel to there not that there's anyone asking me anything.

The truth. Cheap girls and liquor works for me.

"Looks like a fair share of us do get chosen from time to time"

I thought I was a bit of a target coming back from SE Asia frequently. But recently my 89 year old mum came flew from a holiday in UK and got every bag opened, every item of clothing taken out, all her meds looked at, she was questioned about all her meds. It makes you fucking wonder. Yes mate - 89 year old ladies travel with a suitcase full of meds - that's how come they're still alive at 89.

Maybe they weren't looking hard enough.

Ye they got a job to do and I understand that . With all the shit going on in the world now days I understand why they do the things they do --sometimes . Most of the officers at the custom's check points are fine and do the job they was hired to do ,,but I know one and I'm sure there are more that are just dick heads . I see it in my work give someone power over someone else and look out . I'm sure that if you took the uniform away from some of them you would see a very small person with a very boring life that does not have have any power over there life to start with . There work is the one time they are in charge of any thing and can give a order and people will do as they are told = power trip . When I got into it with my Dickless custom's officer on the way back last time ,I guess it was my fault . The line was smaller but I knew from watching him work he was going to be a bitch -and he was . Could of just sucked it up and let him be the man he so much wants to be -but somethng deep down in me said don't let him get away with it and I did not . I knew he had nothing and I was back in the states ,so being late and getting home was no big thing to me . Lucky for me his boss ,something he will never be had dif take on life and cut me loose . I kinda got the feeling frome his boss, he was was thinking here we go one more time -I wish he would stop fucking with people . Same way I feel sometimes when my officers fuck with someone for no reason just to be on a power trip over someone else

On clearing customs in Toronto I got a really fat young woman who asked me where in Thailand I had stayed . I answered Pattaya and she let out a sarcastic "uh huh " and then I heard a sarcastic chuckle from an equally fat young woman in the next booth . The kicker was there were three very slim attractive Thai woman in line behind me and it was all I could do to not point out " I've been looking at women like those for the past 3 months and that has obviously changed now I am back in Canada " . Thankfully I bit my tongue and avoided some major grief if the customs people single you out .

Guess I better buy a chromatic harp for travel, then I can play in every key on just 1 harp. :-)

Of my 4 trips I have yet to be hassled. I get the simple where were you traveling? (thailand), what was your reason for traveling? (holiday), are you bringing back any food/items? (no). These questions honestly do not bother me one bit and so I show no sings of anger/discomfort towards the agent. I don't smuggle anything back with me though and when I travel I only bring my clothes, golf clubs, and plenty of condoms :D Even if they were to further question me and or inspect my luggage I wouldn't care as I'm not trying to hide anything and they are just trying to do their job.

Someday, somebody will ski that

On returning to LHR from Thailand, i opened my suitcase to get my coat, while it was open i put my dutyfree tobacco inside. As i walked through the nothing declare channel iwas stopped he knew the flight i arrived on and asked if i had tobacco in my case. It just goes to show, that you are being watched on cctv all the time.

I had a problem once when I was travelling around Indochina on exit.

On arrival the immegration officer had stamped my passport with the wrong date which was actually two days before my visa actually began. I have not even noticed before it was pointed out to me on exit. They kept me around for a couple of hours asking loads of questions.

They eventually let me leave. I really don't think they had thought it through though - what was the worst they could do - kick me out of the country?? I was leaving anyway!

The states are paranoid about everyone and everything...

However the Uk targets lone males that come in from s.e asia for obvious reasons, drugs, prescribed drugs , viagra (large quantities) and smugglers of steroids.

Also a check on travel patterns and a quick dss check will reveal possible money laundering, you will be surprised how many people live in los on sickness benefits.

Lots of flights have inbound checks for crimminals now who have skipped bail etc or who have drug markers on records and those are also targeted...if you land and as you enter the arrivals area and you see the cops stood waiting and you have failed to go to court or have done a runner then its your areesting officers waiting for you..soon all systems will be linked which will mean dss, tax, police, ukba etc etc and if you are dodgy your travel days will be over and you will have to monger in blackpool!

wow. It really seems like you UK and US guys got it bad for sure. Ive never been asked anything other than: What where your reasons for this trip? holliday and off I go. Ive taken the Copenhagen to Los trip 10 times , and

never been subject to such behaviour. The only time ive been taken to a backroom, were because I had around 200k Baht in my pocket. And all that were said was, that I should take of the money and dont let anyone see that I had them, because of possible theft.

Last time I was in Thailand I was also "targeted" when I arrived home to Ireland. I think what probably set them off was I had my case wrapped in plastic which I got done in Bangkok as I had heard rumours of corrupt police slipping drugs in your case upon your departure and then needing a huge bribe for it to "go away" and for you to be allowed leave the country.

I figured it might give me some protection to wrap my bags but instead my plan gave the Irish customs reason to search my bags. I was about to go through the green nothing to declare channel as I actually had no duty free before being asked where I had came from, I answered I just arrived from London, but am travelling home from Thailand. I was then asked how long I was there and they ran the drugs dog around my bags before x-raying them and I was left go having no contraband on me. It was nothing to worry about and if you ever fly from Amsterdam to Ireland the exact same procedure applies to every Amsterdam passenger as people are always smuggling drugs from Ireland to Holland. Single Male Passengers always attract more attention and last time I flew to America with a lady friend it was all smiles and formalities, however the time before I travelled on my own it was like the Spanish inquisition. I expect them to target Thailand passengers ever more now as some Irish guy was caught defrauding the social welfare system for thousands whilst living the high life in Thailand.

I say who cares they can do their job but once you play by the rules they can't stop you taking a foreign holiday. This thinking has become part of my lexicon now and I might be driving along and breaking the speed limit and then I'd think slow down that €80 fine could be a great night out in LOS so don't go wasting it in speeding tickets! lol!

I get stopped and searched almost every time I return to Toronto, Canada from Thailand and I am under 30 but have been to Thailand 6 times in 2 years. They are rude as soon as I say coming from Thailand and start asking me all these personal questions which I hate. Then the guy who searches the bag is rude and asks even more personal questions which have nothing to do with anything.

Last time I probably put a big red flag on my record as I refused to answer any of the first guys questions, I knew I was getting sent to the secondary screening and told him he can search my bag, I have nothing to hide and he took his time, wiped some tissue thing all around my bag and put it in a machine. Before I left he asked me why I was wasting his time and I said I get treated like a criminal every time no matter what I say so I might as well not say anything. I am not looking forward to the next time I have to return to Canada.

Every time I depart from Perth airport as I go through security screening there's this little Muslim geezer, must be Iraqi or Afghan, great big beard on him, he's like a caricature of a Taliban terrorist, can't speak English and his job is to put this tester thing in our bags for traces of explosives. It's almost comical having this prick checking us out. Must be a case of set a thief to catch a thief.

I return to Canada monthly and don't even talk to immigration so these sorts of things don't come up. So can you unless you're a felon or other problem.

I get searched and grilled big time everytime I enter another country!

How many people get searched when they enter Mexico for f's sake.

Last entry to Canada from Asia 4 of us were instantly shuffled off to the side for more thourough entry procedures...they even turned my latex Vulcan costume ears inside out!!

Ok, sure I'm an ugly F'r but I guess I look like a criminal or something?

Just answer their questions, volunteer nothing, do not swear, do not raise voice...be the good little drone that all government agencies want.

Just think of the past or next trip and grin and bear it......

i have been coming for about 6 or 7 years and sometimes as many times as five times a year. I have never had problems in entering thailand i have twice done long trips but had got the visa sorted before travelling. i am sure it depends on the look of the person thy have always be polite and i have never been searched when entering thailand. only been stoped once when entering uk when the police did a spot check on people entering from a vaction in what they deemed a sex tourist area. after a ploice check on me they said thank you . i travel a lot and live in france so my passport get registered many times.
