Visa problems if hiv+ ?

Around June 1st I had a condom break so I'm waiting for 3 months then I'll go get tested. I'm curious what happens to farangs who live here and become hix+. Are they forced to leave or maybe not granted a visa the next time? I'm here on a yearly Thai family visa and have never had to give blood but I'm wondering if maybe you get put on a blacklist which they will check before renewing it.

As far as diseases go if you have any of the following you can not enter Thailand:

(1) Leprosy

(2) Dangerous step of Tuberculosis (T.B.)

(3) Filariasis (Step that causes disgust to the society)

(4) Drug addiction

(5) Alcoholism

(6) Third step of Syphilis

This is taken from this page.

On the same page it is noted that 'prevention of infected aliens or those who are HIV positive into or to reside in the Kingdom has no effect on the spread of this disease within the nation. Thus, AIDS should not be set as a disease for prohibiting aliens infected with such disease to travel into or to reside in the Kingdom as in accordance with the articles 12 (4) and 44 (2) of the Immigration Act B.E. 2522.'

Would not put much worry into that hiv thing for a condom break ,,,,the odd's are with you big time . Long as you knew it and re-bagged up . I tend to hit it with a little mouth wash after something like that just to better the odd's

None

Does anyone know where I could get tested for # 5?

Somewhere close to New Plaza would be handy. rolleyes.gif

My understanding is that there is no need to wait 3 months in Thailand. Even here in Australia they are not do worried about it any more

The red nose and the consumption of your two bottles of Duty Free Vodka before you get to the passport check at Swampy.

Jesus, if they ever start enforcing #5 they'll thin down the tourist population in a hurry. Refuse entry to every man with a beer gut. LOL...

OP - testing for HIV is not a requirement for getting a visa for Thailand.
