The correlation between Thailand's action against the Red Shirt insurrection last May was infinitely more understandable than the efforts in recent days by the UK's Metropolitan Police in suppressing looters, rioters and total thuggery intent on causing mayhem. Success by the minority depends much on the inability by legal enforcers to pursue the legal process. Due to what: due in the main to the lily livered authorities in gaining control. Fear of Human Rights, excessive force and lack of political support produce inability to carry out duties which may well call for severe penalties if the forces of good are then called out by the multitude of legal parasites protecting the perps with taxpayers money. Yes I tend to agree. Sitting happily in Pattaya reading all this stuff makes one wonder where it will end. The hackers tried before (Y2K etc) and didn't get anywhere so I think they might struggle to bring down social media networks.

The problem in UK stems from the socialist policy introduced by Blair/Brown to encourage the single parent syndrome and social benefits attributed to single families. Stand up, Harriet Harman - progenitor of the system to depersonalise family life. Now we have kids without father figures to keep the family in check, and the wanton destruction of other people's property because there is no recourse to control the perpetrators. It all becomes a case of the race card, social engineering or deprivation through lack of government hand-outs.

LOS protests, on the other hand, resulted in military action and use of excessive force. In Bangkok last year, it appeared that Yellow Shirt snipers were blowing the heads off unarmed Red Shirt protesters. There is a video out showing a Red Shirt protester shot in the head while waving a flag; and in another case, one of the Red Shirt leaders is shot in the head while giving an interview on the street to the media. These actions warrant an investigation by Thai authorities in my opinion.

I agree, very true. Yet nobody has been charged in the LoS with rioting, murder, insurrection - and , probably, nobody will. There are criminal elements out there and it will only take another issue and you will see the same again

I totally agree the London affair was handled robustly and with minimum of injuries. It is just so sickening that one's country of birth has degenerated into this appalling antisocial cauldron where looting, violence and the rule of law are disrespected by the modern generation.

around my area the show of police force really made everyone feel safe,

I utterly hate this kind of mindless looting and criminal activity,

Now we get the robust sentencing of the criminals for incitement and causing riots. Immediately the do-gooders are straight out of the woodwork with comments like 'too harsh', 'inconsistent', legal process will clog the system. Jeez, who are these wasters !! Check the comments below:-

Ok, so what's your solution ???

Put 'em to work.. don't give them a holiday at taxpayers expense. A choice between community service or prison and most would choose the latter. The streets are littered with garbage.. they could make a start by cleaning up and learning some respect for their communities.
