Unexpected in Housing

30 Day countdown and I receive and email from Tik at Dancewatchers that My VT6 reservation has to be cancelled or changed. Seems the owner of my unit Sold it without Notice. Needless to say I am Dissapointed, but will not let it run my Holiday.

 

She gave me the option of cancelling my whole reservation as I was doing a condo Hop between 2 units in VT6, OR Condo hopping between VT6 (1st 3 nights), then moving to VT2A in Jomtien Beach in the 18th Floor penthouse Studio unit..

I chose the latter due to that condo looks very nice and has more than my original condo would have had. but At same price.

She is also taking care of my Transport from VT6 to VT2 .

 

My questio0ns are, Has anyone else stayed at this complex? Is it really easy to Baht bus it to Walking Street?

The Pool at VT2 is alot nice that VT6, anyone use it? What about the bars in Jomtien? Anyone partake and do you like the area?

I'm going to be staying in VT 2 for my first month next year, I like the building and it IS really close to WS. How each condo is fitted out can differ, but if it's one of Tik's rooms, by all accounts it will be up to a good standard.

 

Jomtien is my home base of choice currently. There are lots of bars and some gems to be found for sure. It's way quieter than central Pattaya but still really close by, especially if you rent a bike. It's not bad to Baht bus it but if you want to go past WS north to the other soi's you will have to pay for a second 'ride' usually, as you are changing zones.

Thanks Furryman for the info. I do think that the condo itself is an upgrade from the condo i would have had at VT6.. She moved me to the VIP 18th floor one . Has the Stripper pole built in..lol..How do I use that. I wonder.

So Tik is doing her best to make me happy .

I stayed in one of Dancewatchers 'budget' VT2A condos in June last year. The condo was hardly budget IMO & had all the trimmings like luxury bedding & large LCD etc so yours should be 5 star!

The pool is HUGE (the biggest in Pattaya) & has a nice bar / restaurant with reasonably priced drinks / food; topless Russian birds etc. On the ground floor you have a salon, internet cafe, Thai / Farang restaurants, mini marts & a massage place; again prices are reasonable. Also there is a water machine out the back which will save you some cash better spent on an LT. I mention it because I didn't find it until halfway through my monthly trip.

 

The 'A' building is a short walk from the main Thrappaya Rd ('B' looked quite a trek) where you can get a baht bus into Jomtien Beach Road one way or to WS the other for 10B (continues onto 2nd Road for 20B). There are return buses available late into the evening / morning at the junction of 2nd Road & Pattaya Tai.

 

A little tip for the return leg. People generally get on the bus at the back of the queue, which waits to fill up (until brimming). Simply walk past the front of the queue & hail a passing one after it turns onto Thrappaya Road.

 

The area is generally more quieter on the bar front, with only one crap (heterosexual) gogo bar. I reviewed some nearby bars in the Jomtien section of the forum so have a look there.

tik and her crew will look after you accom wise ,the rooms they look after are usuially well maintained and well stocked .Jomtien has some ok bars but it is onlt a 10 -15 minute trip to Walking Street .its my prefered local for my stays ,my only warning is becareful walking straight across the road into the soi oppisate the main entrance as its lady boy / male central but the next soi allong has some good bars my regular has a friend who owns a bar there so i get cheaper drinks .and it is normially my place i go to start my night off .i think this bar is now called the winner bar ! if you tell her that puppy dog from australia sent you you might get a discount possably !!!!

Is this your first trip to Pattaya?

 

Dancewatchers condo's are very good regardless of where they are located, but Jomtien is as I found out really very quiet.

 

If you are on your first visit and want to really party, Pattaya central (VT6) is THE place to stay. Perfect location.

 

I suspect you will end up sleeping at Jomtien but spending all your waking time in Pattaya, which does become a real pain in

 

the ass catching baht buses all the time. I found that out when I stayed in Jomtien, but never ever again.

I rented a condo in VT5 across the road for 5 weeks June/July. It's a great location, transport is easy on the baht bus and there is shopping close by. I have always heard good things about VT2 from everyone that has stayed there. They have good management and the complex is well looked after. Also Dancwatchers has a flawless reputation on the board and it seems that the are trying their best to work out the situation for you.

 

I think you will enjoy the location as much as I did. It's close enough to Pattaya (10mins) but far enough away to feel relaxed. Personally I hooked up with the GFE so this suited me just fine and the condo was much better suited than a hotel room for such a long stay.

Don't worry, Dancewatcher will take care of you and VT2 is were they live and IMHO better than VT6.

After checking out DW website every few days a new condo became available in VT6 a couple of days ago and I emailed DW and they made the change back to VT 6 for the majority of my stay. They were very easy to work with and made things easy. So I am now only in VT2 for 3 days and 27 in VT6...10 days til touchdown...

They were very easy to work with and made things easy. So I am now only in VT2 for 3 days and 27 in VT6...10 days til touchdown...

Very wise move mate, you will find your trip so much more enjoyable. Happy days ahead.
