Don't have any of the phone numbers, but you might be able to calm him down by pointing out that people who are planning to kill someone don't usually let the victim make phone calls first.

Thanks for the replys, embassy has been in touch with him, seems he wasn't so innocent after all, he done some criminal damage to something and he was too drunk to be interviewed so they banged him up.
