Looks like an amazing 'value for money hotel' . I saw this place a long time ago.

The rooms look they are a very high standard!! I still may turn up in person and book a room if able for the last week of my trip...

Happy travels all

Is this girl friendly? Also what about in room safe?

thx

Yep, girl friendly and a safe in every room.

PLUSS: Very nice new rooms. Nice design. Great value if you stay long. Wireless internet. Girl friendly. Good security. In-room safe.

MINUS: Construction noise. Cold and indoor pool. Some staff could be more friendly. Location a little off if you like action. View.

Stayed there for 6 weeks in June/July. Liked it but when I go back in December I gonna choose something in..... soi 13, closer to bath bus and my favourite spots.

Does anyone know if the construction will still be happening in feb?

Not that it really bothers me too much, more my mates who are light sleepers.

Was tempted to stay here but I like to be a bit closer to the action

Stopped there in September, great value for money.

The rooms r as good as the pictures.

The construction work is for putting in ceiling fans in every room, I think somebody forgot that!!!

Not sure how long this will take, but surely can't be that long.

I never used the pool as its indoors and I like an outdoor pool.

Superb rooms I will go back there, not at Christmas though as they r full!!

Oh ye, its only 5 minute walk to Soi 6, happy days!!

fantastic - thanks for that Slim

sorry for the extremely late reply but when I got back to the US my job sent me to the east coast for a few days but this is a quick review of the KTK Royal Reseidence...

The staff is/was extremely helpful and there was at least 1 or 2 that I would have loved to take up to the room for a quick one. But I stayed at the KTK on the first part of my trip for about 4 days or so and the room was clean, bed soft, water pressure in the shower was excellent (this cam be a deal breaker for me in some hotels) the room service could have been a bit better but I always order a plate of spicy mixed veggies and steamed rice in every hotel I stay at in Thailand just to see where the cooks stand just in case I wanted to order more if I didn't feel like going out for food at some point.

The room was (no lie; straight from the mouth of the girls I had over) comfortable and dark in a sexy way. When I moved to the Citin Loft after the KTK I went back to the KTK and this time I was at the building behind the reception desk and not across the way. This building (which I didn't get a pic of) had a (once again verbatim from the girls) more soft look and more like a home that they would like to live in. The Citin Loft room I stayed in was BIG and the bed had all this lace and cute shit hanging from it and the girls went crazy but they said that the KTK was sexier, better and more comfortable. I found it funny/weird that the building I stayed in this time had a screen door with a lock on it, all of the rooms did. The TGs would see it and play around with it for a while and be like "oooooooooooooh it's for if you want to keep the aircon off and have the door open you could lock the screen and have your door completely open."

And yes, the rooms don't have wi-fi the use LAN but for some reason I like LAN better, there is less dropping of the signal and less buffering (if you're streaming music) and LAN gives a quicker connection IMO. The provide a ether cable but I always bring my own in my laptop bag. The room was cleaned every day, and at first I thought the idea of a communal key drop box was a dumb idea but when I saw other guest who stayed there come back like "I can't find my key" they would get charged some baht for another key. So I guess the key drop box serves its purpose. I fucked around and left my room unlocked the whole first day by mistake, simply because when I left after checking in I assumed when I pulled the door close that it locked itself automatically but it doesn't. (No problems everything was still there when I got back) So if you stay there make sure you use the key to lock your door each time you leave your room IT DOES NOT AUTO LOCK WHEN YOU SHUT YOUR DOOR.

Lastly, the reception girls are very flirty and somewhat sexy, I would try to tell them my room number in Thai when I would return and they would get a kick out of it every time.

I would say this hotel is easily a repeat stay I will be going back.

PS Yes, its GF... very GF

Can you plug in in your room or do you have to go down to the lobby? Is it free still? Thanks!

yes no yes

A Thai girls arsehole is just like a 9 volt battery you know you shouldn't but sooner or later you will put your tounge in it

Thanks a lot for the interesting review, Doc; I totally agree with you about water pressure in the shower as a potential deal breaker, hehe. What kind of room is the one on the photos? They seem to have different kinds on their website ;-)

Did your room have an outdoor balcony with any kind of view? I've driven past it, and I would imagine some of the higher up rooms facing west would have a great view towards Beach Rd. ...

Do they have smoking rooms?!

Thanks for your help.

the room I stayed in was a Grand Superior Studio Double, yes it had a small balcony if I remember correctly (not too sure and if I do remember correctly the view was the standard bushes, trees and other nearby hotels... once again that's if I remember correctly) I don't know if the have smoking rooms or not, sorry. They have two buildings the one behind the reception desk the rooms are more subtle and the building across from it the rooms are more sexy... if I can say that. Can't really explain it. I should have taken pics of both rooms. No worries next time I will. It's a pretty good budget hotel the girls will like it, trust me.

I tried to book 2 weeks for xmas,but to no avail.And i'm a regular.

Booked April Suites for a change,(same price)

northstate 2: " smoking rooms" what century were you born in?

Posted

@Aussiekiwi: Oh, they still do exist, Mr. PC, even though I am sure the health fascist brigade would like to shot the last few of them down ASAP. I've stayed at plenty of hotels all over the world in the last few years, even in the States, where you can still smoke in your room if you order a so-called smoking room. Excellent, as long as that freedom lasts ;-p

Amen to that!

Hi. I read that it is far from the action.

How far is the Walking Street on foot and by bahtbus?

Is there at least any Mall, 7-11, Cinemas near it?

Also, what about the noise that some said. Is there still noise?

Anyone who stayed on 1-bedroom suite please write about the balcony. Is it big enough?

And for the other rooms like Grand studio and Royal executive studio if you have information please write. Are these rooms high and have good sea view or it depends?
