Will be in Bangkok from the 1st to the 5th, then heading down to Pattaya for a week, then either to Phuket or back to Bangkok.

 

Since I don't have access to the Bangkok section yet. Does anybody know a great hotel that is girl-friendly to get, around 4-5 stars?

Phachara - great rooms! Soi 6 2 mins from the Nana action. The Citadines apartments are good too. My friend finds that the veteran Nana Hotel is OK, in the heart of darkness.

I stay at the Dawin or Phachara Suites. Both excellent and perfect location.

By the way, your itinerary is almost identical to mine...PM if you wanna catch up for a drink.

In January I stayed at The Dawin on Soi 4, also called Soi Nana. Great location with many bars around, Nana Plaza and Bar 4 right on the same Soi. Modern lobby and rooms, Nice little restaurant and bar in the lobby and a small rooftop pool. Girls not a problem, never any problems even with 2 honeys.

Also next to Nana is the Dynasty Grande which is worth a look.

I stayed in Grand China Princess in Chinatown, great hotel and no joiner fee.

only 1 hotel for me in bangkok. the landmark.

The Sheraton Grand Sukhumvit is my favourite hotel in Bangkok. I don't think there is a hotel with a better location. They have a walkway straight to Asoke skytrain. Getting about in Bangkok isn't easy so location is very important.

 

The Grand Millennium Sukhumvit is also a good choice, it's an easy walk (side-walk/pavement isn't congested like many others are) to Soi Cowboy and Asoke Skytrain (less then 5 mins walk).

Just a Tip that I use which may aid you.

 

I book any room as a Double for Two Persons. This is either the same or a little more and even in some of the good Hotels it means NO joiner Fee etc.

I stayed at Heaven on 4 hotel on Soi 4 just down from Nana Plaza, the room was a bit small but very nice and new. Just upgrade to the deluxe room and you will be fine. Friendly staff and right near every thing. Plus right next to Nana liquid disco. Look it up on agoda.com

Try to take a look at the Swiss Park Hotel at Sukhumvit road near the german beer garden.

Near EDEN CLUB.Cheers.

PS.Clean and cheep with pool.

I cant believe noone here mentioned Nana Hotel yet. Its as central as it gets, right on in Soi Nana. 100 meters from the Nana "Entertainment" Complex; probably the biggest of its kind in the world. Have a nice trip

Anyways OP, Nana Hotel is INSIDE the fun

Nana Hotel is a dump

 

Grand Millennium Sukhumvit - lovely

Landmark - excellent and in fab location

But my personal fav is President Palace (soi 11) right in-between Nana and Soi Cowboy - Close to Thermae / gullivers / german beer garden

All are guest friendly - hav a look on tripadvisor

 

The Landmark is a very nice hotel, handy for the sky train and the toll way to the airport. Had a meal in the Huntsman downstairs last week but it was dreadful quality. Avoid the Nana Hotel, very dirty. As Linnsondek suggests, have a look on Tripadviser. We stayed over by the river last week for the first time, some excellent hotels but a bit far from everywhere. Very relaxing though. Stayed at the Baiyoke Sky Hotel 3 years ago. A bit touristy but my Mrs loved it. Great breakfast buffet and they upgraded us to a junior suite for no reason.

Im goin to be in Bangkok from the 17th sept til 19th sept....Im staying at The Majestic Suites....right next to Nana.........

my 2 cents: if you're new to bkk, browsing through hotels webby will churn out alot of 4/5 star hotel that looks majestic, grand yet cheap....but half the time you will be dissapointed cos there are quite a few large (and very old) 4/5 star hotels around. Recommendations in these 2 pages are great, u'll be safe with these. Also to note what do u want out of the 4/5 twinkles....personally i dont really care for grand lobby...no need fancy 5 star restaurant, i want smthing fairly new, clean, modern and no mouldy stained walls, no century old carpets....etc...in short, i look for 4 star rooms, rather than the hotel as a whole, my pick: citadines (soi 8 or 11), Legacy suites, dream hotel...great rooms, equally great prices.

Well, it's a 5 star hotel in my eyes (even if it isn't;)

try amari city lodge at soi 9 corner sukumvit, its a small place managed by the amari group ( booking via webside from amari ) ,the rooms are central and good and clean, its not 4 star bt 3,, price booking on net beetw.1000 and 1500 , try to get a room backside , bcs in the front sukumvit, but even frontrooms are relativly quiet. just in walking distance soi cowboy, nana and bts just in front 300 mtr station
