How do BM protect themself against dengue fever? Personally if use long sleeves, trouses and occasionally spray.

" The Public Health Ministry is warning of a dengue fever outbreak after finding that more than 20,000 people have been hit with the disease over the six months and 13 of them have died."

Dengue fever has indeed become a serious problem this year even in pattaya. I personally know of a restaurant owner and his son who were suffering the effects for weeks.

Well the mosquito carrying the disease is mostly active during the day, while we're mostly active at night time, so good anti mosquito when you go sleep.

If you're staying at a high end hotel with flowers and water get rid of that.

Once infected you must drink a lot of fluids, rest, but most importantly make sure that any pain drugs you take don't interfere with blood clotting, since Dengue makes the body bleed internally.

And being infected for the 2 time is the dangerous part.

No need to panic though, just be aware and carful as you can.

Has anyone tried the vit b-12 patches? They are supposed to give you stronger doses of vit b12 than just taking the tablets can give.

Why is the second time worse?

Caught it first trip here, it's really, really no fun at all.

It's obvious you haven't had Dengue. Or have any medical background.

I have had Dengue twice. There are 4 serotypes or variants. Each time you get infected you get immune from that serotype. One extreme stage of any Dengue infection, even the first - this is not specifically one of the serotypes - of Dengue is DHF or Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever or DSS, which is Dengue Shock Syndrome which does not happen that often nor does it necesarily happen the 2nd time. http://www.fulltubemovies.com/search/?q=shit&e=0&t=1There'>http://www.fulltubemovies.com/search/?q=shit&e=0&t=1There is an increased risk of more serious symptoms if you contract another variant after a first infection, depending on the order you get infected with which variant. http://www.fulltubemovies.com/search/?q=shit&e=0&t=1

Dengue is unpleasant and is rarely fatal, even DHF. Read the post, 13 of 20,000 or .065% died in Thailand, that's is 6.5 hundredths of a percent died. These are usually the old, chronically ill or very young, not normal adults. Places with endemic Dengue are experts in management.

I am not advocating getting Dengue since it is very unpleasant. But don't make things up or condense what you read somewhere as it is scaremongering. Use anti-mosquito controls.

This board is not alone with consistently bad, wrong or dangerous medical advice on just about any serious medical topic, especially armchair pharmacists on the subject of STD's, and now Dengue. If you are sick or need medical advice, for God's sake - even in Pattaya, see a doctor or go to an ER and have proper insurance to do so.

When I had Dengue fever the biggest problem was my inability to hold down fluid and food.Dehydration was the big problem and spent few days in hospital on a saline drip. Hogwash111 Mosquito are most active in the morning and evening and tend to keep out of the heat of the day.Anyone interested in Dengue fever google the correct info and not go by second hand statements..
