I was told by few folk who have taken trips to LOS that when i leave for home it is a good idea to have my suit cases cling film wrapped at airport. That way it easier to detect if bags have been tampered with! Can any body shed sum insight in to this?

Most airports - including Bangkok - have a cling wrap service available for a small fee. Its not something that I have ever considered doing and I don't know personally of anyone who has had a bag interfered with at BKK airport.

Sure as long as the thieves don't have a rare high tech device like a knife, box cutter or razor blade this impenetrable near-Kevlar is worth the money.

And no better way to attract customs than a suitacase wrapped like a mummy that you obviously don't want them to look inside.

I agree with the last part. I did it once comming back from Costa Rica. When I got to seattle I found my suite case had been unwraped and the lock cut off. No note that customs had open it but sure was wondering what had happen to it. Lucky there was nothing missing and no suprises when I opened it. Will never do that again. I have enough trouble just comming back into the country now without going thru that.

A bloke once told me that he's had his bag cling wrapped and both times at the other end the cling film had been removed.

This is purely anecdotal evidence.
