Pattaya Airport

Hello,

 

This august I will arrive in Patts by plane at Pattaya Airport (U Tapao).

I've in Patts a few times but always with a car from Bangkok.

 

How do you get from this airport to the city center (to let the fun start )?

Will there be a, like anywhere else in LOS, a load of taxis waiting to take you to the city for a 'cheap' price ? Or is it better to arrange your transport upfront ?

I've flown in there twice, but had a pick-up arranged, didn't seem to be many cabs around and I wonder if thats because its part of the Thai airforce base?????

Pre-arranging might be a good idea.

i found there to be 4 or 5 taxi firm touting for business before the exit of the airport. think I paid 400baht one way to where ever in pattaya

Best is to pre-book your transport from U Tapao to Pattaya. That will get you a seat on a minibus. If you book your flight in Thailand you can probably book the minibus at the same time. I think I also heard someone say they booked direct with Bangkok Airways.

I used Mr T Taxi from Utapao.

 

Normal e-mail to him and a taxi was waiting for me.

I fly Bangkok Airways out of Phuket, found my ticket simply on their website. It's all very easy to do.

A Booked service then you know you get the best price.

 

I would use Mr T Taxi same like i do if at BKK Airports.

No Problem I have found this the best way. The first time arrived at the airport they had taxi which was very expensive and mini bus which was ok but they just drop you off in certain places in pattaya.
