Some of you may already know about PEP which often can stop HIV if you know you have been exposed but take the right meds very shortly after. One problem with this is it can make you very ill. This article discusses if a modified version of this could be done before you have sex that could have the same anti HIV effects. It does make sense. A vaccine would be most ideal but perhaps in the not too distant future you could take a Truvada before going with any BGs and greatly reduce your risks. I have no idea how far in advance or how much you would need but it is intriguing.

I think using a condom would be a much smarter decision... :)

Apparently eating a lot of bananas help reduces the risk of being infected with HIV. But you will attract more mosquitos.

that could get you banana poisoning...

Until HIV is cured even a condom is not full proof as it could break. Why wouldn't you want an extra layer of protection?

Or go to a place like Devil's Den, which is upfront and transparent about their STD checks...

STD checks aren't foolproof as it can take a while to show up sometimes. The drugs can have such strong dude effects you would spend half the time feeling extremely ill, once they develop drugs with less side effects it could become an option though

That was supposed to say side effects (iPhone spelling probs)

Is this another Urban myth? This sounds as trustworthy advice as 'Having sex while standing up won't get your gf pregnant if you don't use a condom.'

Wanking alone in your room is the only 100% foolproof prevention for HIV.

Long live the wankers!!

Lectins extracted from bananas bind to the glycosylated envelope protein of the HIV virus preventing transmission.

Eating bananas would be ineffectual you would need to extract the lectin at a high concentration, also lectins can cause damage to the guts epethelial cells which can lead to auto immune disorders.

In other words Meh!
