Grand Hotel - Soi 14 off Walking St

Never heard this hotel discussed much but I stayed here for a week or and would return.

They have deluxe rooms at 1200 and basic rooms at 890.

I stayed in the basic and it was a decent, dated room. The decor was a bit shabby and it had an ant problem but it was fine for me.

The location is fantastic for Walking Street and you can get free wifi from Secrets across the road which has a strong signal. Just buy a drink or a meal in there one night to get the password.

If you want the anonymity of large hotel but not much more expensive than a guesthouse this is a decent option. I didn't try to haggle the prices but I think you could if you stay for a week or more.

I've stayed there many times in the past and totally agree that you cannot go wrong for the location itself.

Just a few pics from this weekend at the Grand hotel.

Room was 1290b per night. Nice room, AC worked well, excellent water pressure and hot water quantity. Nice view as well.

Desk did NOT take ID (but will if that is your wish).

Good parking for motorcycles, but after 6pm, looked pretty full as they charge and allow non-guests to park.

1000b deposit taken, but refunded in morning. Nice staff.
