Was the fire at Music Studio Pattaya an accident?

The music studios fire.

Further Investigation:

by Earl Sullivan on Sunday, 03 July 2011 at 01:29

Was the fire at Music Studio Pattaya an accident? It appears that the family of Kanchana Phyuphat appeared to be more concerned over retreiving the assets of Kanchana than they were about the deaths of Victoria Mary Sullivan and Kanchana Phyuphat. They were extremely dilligent on emptying her bank account and attempting to collect the insurance policicy and were at the land office picking up the deeds from her and her husband’s two homes while Kanchana and Victoria were in thier cofins at the Wat. The bodies were not even cold, and this family was all over her belongings.

While she was in the hospital, none of her family even bothered to show up to check up on her in the 36 hours that she was in ICU waiting to pass away. Does that not seem a little odd? If it was my daughter in ICU, I would have been by her side every moment. Although the brother and father of Kanchana were at the Studio at the time that the blaze broke out, neither of them had a mark or had the slightest of injury, but little Victoria and her mother, Kanchana, were both burnt to death. The brother and father gave very little info to the authorities on how the fire broke out, and while at the Wat showed little concern for Kanchana.

Kanchana’s elder her sister came to the hospital, and instead of going into the room and checking up on Kanchana, was pre-ocupied on the phone contacting the insurance company to inquire on how much money the family would receive from the policy, despite the fact that they never put in 1 baht towards paying this policy.

Due to this families suspicious behavior, I believe that further investigation into this incident is paramount. Somethings here just do not add up.

I am not judging anything here and this was an awful tragedy but why every time someone dies whether it be falling from a balcony or having a heart attack someone always comes out of the woodwork and accuses all and sundry of Murder.

I am sure if it is true that if the family did not go near the woman was because of the state she was in, was this reporter actually there, I dont know the facts but I think she was electrocuted which started a fire and the child died from there, so why has there got to be some underlying dark secret and people accused of all sorts.

Just about every time someone dies, some cleaver dick spouts out, "ahh yeah it was murder and the police are covering it up. "

I agree that it is not always murder and the police are not always covering something up. I am sure most times it is as it seems, but I personally know a girl who had her Farang boyfriend murdered and used the money he left her too buy her way out of jail AFTER ADMITTING SHE DID IT

You read enough about very odd and suspicious deaths and it makes you wonder

Live by the sword. Die by the sword!!!!!!!!!!

How do you write, create?" You don't, I told them. You don't try. That's very important: not to try, either for Cadillacs, creation or immortality. You wait, and if nothing happens, you wait some more. It's like a bug high on the wall. You wait for it to come to you. When it gets close enough you reach out, slap out and kill it. Or if you like its looks you make a pet out of it."

I WILL MAKE MY FIRST POSTING SINCE JOING SOME TIME AGO. THESE PEOPLE WILL DIE AND COME BACK AS THAI BUDDHISTS. THE PEOPLE WHO SURVIVED TO BENEFIT FROM THEIR DEATHS WILL DIE AND COME BACK BUDDHISTS. DIE A BUDDHIST; COME BACK A BUDDHIST. DIE AND ATHIEST, AND WELL, ONE SIMPLY DIES. AS ONE OF THE POSTERS STATED, TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF FIRST.

IN MY CHILDHOOD I LEARNED TO AVOID FIRES. "WHAT, ME WORRY?"

If the author of the article in the OP really is Earl Sullivan, then you will find that it was his wife and daughter who perished in the fire. I sincerely hope it is not someone pretending to be him causing trouble!

Welcome, I hope that you can learn to take off your caps lock, using all upper case is considered to be shouting.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!"

The author was Earl Sullivan, the husband and father of the deceased. A fact that Earl didn't mention in his post was that 2 weeks prior to the fire that killed his wife and child, his wife's family demanded to "borrow" 200,000 baht. Kan explained that their money was tied up in the business and the only way she could get 200,000 baht was from her life insurance policy should she die. The family (Mother and brother) were very angry that she didn't give them the money. They hadn't spoken since that incident.

Be assured that Mr. Sullivan is not claiming that his wife's family murdered his wife and daughter. He is claiming that there are circumstances surrounding the incident that warrants further investigation. I believe that a forensic fire marshall from Bangkok be put in charge of the investigation so that arson can be either ruled out or confirmed and that the exact nature of the fire be made clear to all.

I wouldn't have posted the article if it was a journalist, if you reread the article, you will see its the husband that wrote it!

OMG! Seriously?

This is too sad.

Regardless of where you are at in the world, the death of a 3 yr old is just wrong.

If the post about the 200K Baht is true, then I might not try to get a Thai girl if the family would kill their own kin.

No amount of money can buy a life.

Even if it is the LOS. I thought family was valued in Thailand.

As a matter of interest, does anyone know if insurance policies in Thailand can have non-Thai beneficiary? Can payouts be made to foreigners relatives or friends rather than the Thai family?

If so, might be worth thinking about for some farangs who have assets in Thailand.

back about 6 years ago i had a thai gf who lost her husband he got seriously injured in a motorbike accident long story short he was in hospital 14 days before he died his parents were reasonably well of but his wife parents were not.

what she told me was he was suffering and in a lot of pain and needed morphine injections which had to be paid for his mother refused to pay for them, why she said why throw money away he be dead soon

and that was his own mother who was the "boss" of the household husband wanted to pay for them but she overuled him he died suffering in pain
