Why is your first pic of the inside of a restaurant not yours? Good luck with your Pom run Lone Star. Nothing says real Texas cuisine like english cooking.

It's not Mohammad.

That Mohammad Ali picture is awesome, and the rest of the place looks great too... I'm gonna check this out like the same day as I arrive, lol.

Walk by there almost everyday on the way to strap on the feedbag. China restaraunt had great food. Will have to see how your BBQ is next time in Pats.

I\'ve been to Texas quite a few times, but haven\'t had the chance to eat there yet. I\'ll put it on my list and get back to you soon. ;)

just wondering why there are Andy Warhol prints all over the walls when this is a Texas themed restaurant, seems cowboy and the old west type pics would be a better fit? anyway... i will give it a try soon, best wishes to the owner.

Yes I see your point of view, we wanted some pictures to add some "colour" to the walls, Andy Warhol seemed to do the job! I could have done the usual Texas Number plates on the wall and flags etc but decided against it!

Thats all we can ask, I think people will enjoy the food and we already have a fair few regualars! We always try to offer good value for money, good service and most importantly good food.

I'm sorry but almost $14.00 for a burger with sides is outrageous in whatever country you live in. Here in Las Vegas, it is cheaper at Caesars Palace hotel or most other casinos. Guess I wont be cuming to your place when i visit in February 2012. Sorry.

Me too I think the theme has been spoiled quite a bit. Ate at Lone Star in the US a few times:

- hardwood floors are a must, laid out parallel to the windows not the walls

- people got peanuts buckets and threw the shells onto the floor which added to the ambiance

- tiled walls ? Warhol pictures ? Given the small room it should feature rustic slightly dirty white walls, black and white or sepia pictures of thai girls riding on horses and bulls.

- a smokey joe bbq in front would look great for advertising and they could sell some food to go

Dont know where u get ur prices from but i ate there yesterday 10 jan. The cheesburger(big one) with sides of fries and onion rings came to 240bht AKA 6€ or About 8 USD. Was very good even though i have to say i liked the late great Bobs BBQ burgers even better. And i did read somewhere that they hired one of the chefs who used to work at Bobs.

Anyhow will return for sure.

ate at lone star on new years eve, i had 1/2 rack of baby back ribs, matey in photo had 1/2 rack of st louis?( cant remember name!) style ribs, thought they had got it wrong & brought us full racks by mistake! F**k me they are a big portion!

lovely & tender & tasty, well impressed. as a fan of Ians 'work' anyway i knew it was gonna be good beforehand.

Total bill with soft drinks for 2 of us was THB690, Really cant argue with the price.

Decor isn't as 'texan' as i thought but i went for the food not decor.

Only slight criticism is that neither of us really liked the taste of the BBQ beans, sorry!

Great work again Ian,

back in april for more!

Yes the portions are BIG, the little piggy has 10 to 13 ribs so we literally buy a full rack of pork ribs and give you half! Some other places give just 4 ribs which is cheating really, St Louis cut is lovely and meaty as well!

690 Baht aint bad for 2 people inc soft drinks! I want to offer qualilty food, good value for money in a nice enviroment! = Happy customers!

We are looking at opening for breakfast with special Mexican style menu, something a little diffrent from he normal offered locally.

I am glad you enjoyed the burger, yes we use the same seasoning at Bob's BBQ as the chef who worked for Dale came to work for us once it closed.

The diffrence is taste is probably the meat, under Dale they were grinding Thai beef chunk, we grind our own Australian Rib eye or Sirloin (depending Makro have at the time). The meat will give the burger a diffrent taste but for the better I would have hoped, we did try a lot of options before plumping for the 200g Ozzy Burger made on site. I will take a look at the BBQ beans.. we make our own, same ase the onion rings & fries etc

We look forward to seeing you again !

He wasn't trying to copy any other restaurant I believe--he just liked the name.

True, I learnt a while back when I opened "Hells Kitchen" that restaurants need a theme (Hells Kitchen became the Jolly Friar), I took the name Lone Star Texas Grill as the theme for new place, it repsesent the type of food we well and people can make an instant connection to the name / type of food. I think the decor is warm, inviting, comformatable and clean ! But your right, not essentially Texan ;-)
