Getting oriented in Pattaya

If one wants to get to know Pattaya better, there are surely numerous options. One could stay in different areas, walk around at one’s leisure or possibly rent a motorbike. One can also take a virtual tour of interesting streets with the help of the Pattaya Photo Guide. I have used this to check out hotels and other businesses, but also for pure amusement. It is a great tool and I recommend it to others.

There does not seem to be too much difference between Pattaya Photo Guide and MapJack. The photographic material itself appears to be the same.

Everybody seems to know and use the Pattaya Photo Guide, but I MUCH prefer Mapjack.com. Mapjack is the "base" program for PPG, and IMO much better. In MJ you can resize the windows, and best of all, you can go full screen. "Walking around" in full screen is uncannily like being there, you can almost smell the sewers. And, Mapjack covers a few other cities in Thailand, including Chang Mai. Nobody else does that, including Google Street View. I love GSV, but I have a feeling it will be years before it covers any of Thailand, if ever. I'm hoping Mapjack will do at least some high points in Bangkok. Until then, I find myself spending time every day "touring" Pattaya on Mapjack. Check it out!

Pattaya Photo Guide also has some features that MapJack does not have, but I agree that being able to enlarge the "tour window" - as one can do at MapJack - is very helpful. It is surely possible to use both sites, depending on one's needs and preferences.

Game of Golf, sight seeing in BKK, Floating Market and a few other attractions just outside Pattaya, Koh Samet Island about 2 hours away, many things to do for a day out.
