Unfortunately, no. This only helps prevent recurrent herpes outbreaks once you already have the virus, but it does not prevent you from acquiring the infection in the first place.

What are your symptoms when you have an outbreak? I am not sure if it is herpes i have or not.

Per google, small blisters on dick shaft or below the head that eventually burst after a day or so, then dry up and disappear. Like most STD's can vary from nasty to showing no symptoms at all. Condoms do not protect from getting Herpes or Genital Warts.
