I've booked for Areca Lodge for November, but missed that they are having work done from May to Nov.

Has anybody stayed there recently and was there any problems with refurb noise?

I'm booked into Evergreen wing, but i don't know if this'll make a difference.

Thanks

Stu

Now if they would just do some renovations on their joiner policy!

Stayed there last week, in Evergreen, didn't notice or hear anything.

Stayed several days at the Evergreen wing of the Areca Lodge. Very impressive - liked it better than Tim Boutique hotel. Has a big, nice pool, and is newly built, so looks new. Great value.

Thanks Kayo, as I've stayed at Tim my last few trips its nice to know. :001_Thank_You5:

I was hesitating between Areca and August suite. I am glad i choose the right one. When on vacation i can easily miss construction in my sight !

A good girl gives you happiness and a bad girl gives you experience both are essential in life so enjoy every girlfriend!

What rate did you guys get for the evergreen rooms? I plan to make a booking for early Sept.

I booked a super deluxe room via Agoda for £36 incl p/day, sadly the addicts link was more expensive.

Booking says room for two, do you mean if you bring more then one lady back? Or is there a joiner fee even for 1? How much is joiner fee?

As far as I know, there's no joiner fee for the first "guest," but a 300 Baht fee for an additional "guest." But don't try to bring in an 18 or 19 year-old (although legal in Thailand). The Areca Lodge policy (not Thailand policy) is that "guests" must be 20 years old, or older.

See my previous post Here. Read through that post, along with comments, for further information.

In most cases, this wouldn't cause a problem. But if you should happen to want a cute 19 year-old "guest" to visit you, watch out!

Which is exactly why I would never stay there again. If I want to bring a 18/19 year old back with me it's none of their fucking business!

My sentiments, exactly, Brewster! With policies like that they've lost more than one customer (including you and me). And I stay often and long.

There are plenty of other places around (PBR, for example) that have more sense.

Up to them, but also Up to me (and you)!

P.S. Sorry I missed you again on this trip. Been there for four weeks but I'm on my way home at the moment. Be back in October (actually, starting September 29).

Cheers mate. I'm just hoping the new owners of the PBR don't change the hotel for the worse! Catch you in Sept/Oct.
