I have been wanting to get one for a few years now-but after the recent religous tattoo crackdown,Im wondering if its still possible to get one.

Also I have been wanting to get the tattoo in the Tradional way from a monk in bkk or Pattaya anyone have advice where?

I haven't heard of an actual crackdown or new law, only that the Cultural Minister complained that farangs shouldn't be allowed to get them. I could be wrong tho...

It may be of less of a concern to you that the tatto itself but I've seen many faded tatts from cheap/bad ink. Lots of girls have them of course and I ask

quite a few where and when they get it done. Often 5 years and it's looking very faded and most of the detail is lost. Personally I only use INTENZE brand

ink as its colour is bright and lasts, yes this goes for the black too. If you are getting one done my a Monk you may not get this option but why not buy and bring

your own, especially if you only want black. I'm sure it wouldn't matter to them if you got them to use the ink you want.

good idea - i have noticed that too. I still trying to decide whether I'm going to seek out a monk or use a respected tattoo artist

you can get a sak yant in pattaya...the guy that do'es them live's on the (dark side)of pattaya...i'm getting one when i go over in jan next year...if you look on the site...there's a lot of info about him...

Got Sak Yant Gao Yord done in Feb this year. Went with a BG to her home village near Udon.

search the board for tattoo and you should find the pics and details

No idea of the name but if you ask the Thai tattoo guys or show them a photo of it I am sure they all can do it.

I went to wat bang phra and got a "pra bid daa". Anyone can go and it's not too far from bkk. The rest of mine have been done by a friend of mine who is a monk in koh samui. It's a special thing to get done by a monk. But finding one that will do it and one you can comunicat with can be tricky. The monk i know speaks no english, but luckily i speak thai.

This monk charges for designs unlike the monks in Wat Bang Phra in Nakhon Pathom (only donations...Up to u).

For original sak yant done by a monk i gone to Wat Bang Phra in Nakhom pathom

About one hour of bus from BKK (starting from victory monument)

You give what you want to temple just have to offer flowers and cigarets

Only problem is sterilization ! i think he just burn a little bit the needle before.

As previously said how clean are these places? I asked my GF where I can get one done and she refused because of the cleanliness and told me her brother can do them (obviously new needles etc and I've seen his work). Also for alot cheaper. But I would like the real deal.
