Suvarnabhumi to Don Mueang airport

I wonder if anyone can tell me the best way to get from Suvarnabhumi international airport to the old Don Mueang airport, which is still used for certain domestic flights. Is there any kind of shuttle bus between the two airports?

Bus 554 runs between the airports and departs from the transport centre, a shuttle bus from the airport bus terminal on the lower level will connect you to the transport centre.

Thank you for this information. I did not know about this transportation center at Suvarnabhumi, but have just found out that there could be a long wait for a flight at Don Mueang. So I would like to post another question: Does anyone know how someone arriving at Suvarnabhumi airport can connect with the aircon or VIP busses heading north towards Phitsanoluk?

Depending on your time of arrival. take the train into phaya thai and switch to the skytrain, take the skytrain to Mo chit which is 5 stops north. From the station take a tuk tuk to Mo chit bus station from here you will be able to catch a bus to your destination. Trains from 7 am onwards. hope this helps.

I follow your directions, but perhaps I was looking for an easier way to get to the Northern terminal. How is the taxi service between Suvarnabhumi and Mo Chit?

A taxi is very dependent on the time of your arrival. Because you have to go through the centre of bangkok if it's during rush hour it could take up to 2 hours about 45 mins is the norm should cost no more than 600 baht.

Can you tell me if there is any regulation of taxi fares in the Bangkok area, including the airport? Are fares calculated by taximeter or can the driver arbitrarily give you a price? Is it wise to discuss the price before getting into the taxi?

Always get a price before you get in the taxi.At the airport you can get a taxi from the ground floor, just go to the taxi stand and they will give you a price and a slip of paper with the price on before you get in.

Thank you for this practical information. I took a taxi from the old airport one time, without a pre-agreed price, and the driver seemed to take a round-about route to our destination in Bangkok. Maybe the cost was higher, too.
