Disappointed to see that the previous post was terminated. Early really. We want to know the pitfalls and what can be learnt from capturing the perps. Sure, they need to do some serious Thai bird. It matters not whether they are French, Uzbekis, Patagonians or plain Thais. We also need to know how they achieved the scam. More info please !!

The plastic/metal hook trick is old. I used to live in Marseille, France, as a teenager in the 90s. That scam was rife, it was in the newspaper everyday. Exact same modus operandi. I guess the same type of lowlife scum who operated then took their trick to Pattaya with them.

 

If my memory serves me right, it was at some point nicknamed the "Marseilles scam" in the papers, giving my hometown a bad name :(
