Kanon Krok - Street food

Recommended Posts

Many years ago in BKK a few street food vendors sold Kanom Krok, a small bowl shaped coconut pancake type dessert, usually topped with shreds of capsicum (bell pepper for the Americans), or sweetcorn. I wondered if anyone has seen these in Pattaya. I'd love to try them when I return.

If you're interested, here's a recipe: http://www.templeofthai.com/recipes/kanom_krok.php

I've tried making them but it's just not the same

Topic should read Kanom, not Kanon. Apologies

Can get them in Patts. I have seen them for sale in Jomtien. Motorbike sidecar street vendor near market top of Soi 7 Jomtien.

Looked and smelled great but I had already bought food so didn't stop but BG I was with mentioned them and said they were good. Said we'd go back later and get some but goI got distracted :03:

Try the markets and I am sure you'll find them

Thanks for that, I'm glad to hear they're still around. If you get the chance again, try them, delicious. I'm looking forward to a mouthful of them and other little Thai delights! :)

this is one of the best things i liked about Thai food. its crispy, its sticky inside, sweat and just explode in your mouth with many tastes. in bangkok you can get the small variant from the street vendors or the big one which i like little less in malls like in MBK. i try to eat them as much as i can when im in bangkok cuz its hard to get them elsware.

thanks for telling us there name and for the recipe!
