I agree with the Police sorry guys, this is Beach road and along Beach road tends to be more family orientated, so by keeping the freelancers off Beach road then the Non-Sex tourists with kids etc can't complain!

 

Everyone can go get a girl at any Beer bar or go-go and anyone who has been coming to Pattaya for a long time will know they try and have a clean up at least twice a year to show the hirearchy that they are at least trying to solve the problem.

 

The girls will be back on Beach road the next night doing the same thing, i have never been with a Beach road freelancer because i would be scared of getting drugged and robbed or both!

 

I see the papers every week and see another tourist robbed or drugged that has picked a girl up off Beach road. The new cameras and lighting have helped a little and there seem to be less tourists drunk on there way home getting mugged by thai guys or lady boys.

 

The Sex trade won't be affected at all so i wouldn't worry about it!

TG on the beach tell me the cops come two or three times a night sometimes. Take the girls off to soi9 station and the fine for first offence is 500 baht... no money to pay then 48 hours in the pokie.

The girls arn't paying the cops any cash like the jetski owners are so its easy pickings for them.

It has been correctly noticed that these crackdowns happen on a regular basis. So it's not a new thing and it doesn't change anything. I believe the goal is to extract some kind of tax from these girls. And the girls don't have to be soliciting to get dragged to the police station. They just grab every girl who is dressed like she could be soliciting.

 

But the passage about the police "cracking down several illicit sexual acts" is so fake. I've walked the Beach rd. numerous times during the dark hours and have never seen any "illicit sexual acts". The soliciting there is so mild with the girls just saying: "Hello" or "Sexy man". There is no dragging or anything like that. And they never bother couples or families. I cannot see how they can disturb families. They are just standing there... If you are a male just walk the Beach Rd. together with a girl. NOBODY will try to solicit you.

 

It's true that ladyboys can be aggressive and practice dragging and sexually explicit moves. But as I understand they were not detained.
