Swiss Tourist drugged and robbed by bar girl at South Pattaya hotel

A Swiss Tourist was reportedly drugged and robbed of his valuables after he had agreed to take a woman back to his hotel Room in South Pattaya. Mr. Martin Albert Ruedi aged 58 reported the incident at Pattaya Police Station, in the early hours of Sunday Morning and brought with him a half-empty cup of coffee purchased by his female companion at a convenience store situated next to the Welcome Plaza hotel on Pattaya Second Road where Mr. Ruedi was staying. He revealed the incident occurred on Friday Night when he agreed to take the woman back to his hotel. On the way, she purchased the coffee which Mr. Reudi consumed when inside his room. He felt drowsy and eventually passed out and awoke 24 hours later to find that 50,000 Baht, a computer notebook and a mobile phone had been taken from the room. Police are now working with the hotel to obtain security camera footage in an attempt to identify the suspect who remains at large for now.

If he was out for 24hrs it must have been a big dose of the drug, he is lucky, might have killed someone with a weak heart

Poor guy!

I'm glad it wasnt me.

He should have read the newbie advice.

Agreed. Must have been a FL. Or maybe he was too drunk to identify the bar??

Reminds me of the drunk guy I saw on WS showning around a card with hotel name but no address. lol

50,000 Baht, a computer notebook and a mobile phone had been taken from the room.

This is what happens when you don't want to spend 100b for a STroom and bring back the FL to your hotel...

This is also what happens when you have a lot of cash with you because you don't want to pay the 150b fee at the ATM.

Very true.

In fact on that website, there's other stories of guys being drugged and robbed, one a Turkish guy looks like he picked up a FL from the beach area, another three Italians who were drugged from ladies they picked up on the dolphin roundabout (probably FL beach road).

I'll stick to the 'safer' girls from the beer bars and go go's.

What the hell is the matter with this guy keeping 50K where it can be easily found in his room?

Offtopic: three years later and everyone can (still) recognise the guy as you read the full article.:unsure:  Once your picture is on the internet.

It seems when you report stolen items or a thief your face will forever be on the internet though I doubt if his family? friends? will ever see the article..

Problem being Google etc. want to move in a direction that could cause issues for people ... using facial recognition technology. Personally I don't believe them when they say they are just looking into it for academic reasons.

Facebook's new facial recognition project claims to match faces with 97.25 per cent accuracy - almost exactly as accurate as the average human.

Almost two years ago, Facebook bought Face.com, an Israeli start-up that specialised in face-recognition software. Given the instant backlash, it's no surprise Facebook has kept pretty quiet about the technology since then.

Last week, though, Facebook quietly published a research paper that shows it has in fact been hard at work developing its face-recognition capabilities. The paper, co-authored by Face.com co-founder Yaniv Taigman, introduces a system called DeepFace that can match two images of the same face with incredible accuracy.
