Late Night Arrival into Pattaya from BKK Airport

For those of you arriving into BKK airport after 1800 (like me sometimes) travel options to Pattaya become limited. Here are some ways to get to PTY in time order:(I've done options 1 and 3)

 

1. After 1800 take Roong Reuang Coach Level 1 Gate 7 last bus leaves at 2200 124 baht, BUT THEY DON'T STOP AT THE PATTAYA MAIN BUS STATION. They drop off people along Sukhumvit Road at Nakula, North and South Pattaya and Jomtien. (they'll announce the stops) Then hire a mototaxi or tuk-tuk to your hotel for B50-100.

 

2. Between 2200-2300 take Airport Express shuttle A3 (Level 1 Gate 8, B150) to Ekkamai Bus Station (3rd stop) then bus to PTY main bus station (B124). Last bus leaves Ekkamai at 2300 then songtaew for B20-30 or mototaxi B50-60.

 

3. After 2300 take Mr. T Taxi 24-hour service ([email protected]) only 1,000 baht for a sedan or 1,500 for a van which includes tolls direct to your hotel.(they also do the reverse trip and even to the Cambodian border) I've used this service three times and have referred him to friends. The driver will stop at a 7/11 along the way if you want (buy him a drink) No tip required but I give 50 baht.

 

4. Many hotels offer taxi service for around B1,500. Devil's Den offers a limosine service for B18,000!

 

5. Go to the Departure level and hail a taxi.

 

For those of you who arrive and can clear Immigration and Customs before 1800 I recommend Bell Travel (B200) or #1 or #3. For groups of 3 or more or those with a lot of luggage I recommend #3 it's the least amount of hassle and only 1.5 hours to Heaven!

I would avoid taking a metered taxi since the cars are small and have crappy aircon. Mr. T's cars are much nicer. They picked me up once in their van which had capacity for about 8 people, though I was traveling alone! The charge was still only 1000 baht from the airport. Most of all, metered taxis charge a flat rate to Pattaya and it's more expensive than Mr. T.

Same thing happened to me just 3 weeks ago, except I was going to the airport. I only paid teh 900 baht to the airport I thought there was some confusion as he seemed to be asking if there was anyone else. But it all worked out.

As one taxi driver told me, he takes people from Pattaya to airport cheaper because he can always get a fare back.

But finding a fare from Pattaya back, especially at 2:30 in morning is much harder. So book in advance.
