wi fi question

Hi all,

 

Thinking about taking my rather old laptop to Pattaya. Any stores that I could go to that would sell me a wi fi adaptor and set it up for me. In english? I have tried to buy Japanese wi fi stuff before but my computer cant read it or it shows the menus in %%&#$$%&%# which is no great help. Also--any clue on prices for such a set up.

Take your machine to Tukcom on Pattaya Tai and just go to one of the many shops and explain what you want. For a small fee, they will also configure the device for you.

Thanks Skygod. Really appreciate the help. i was up in the air if I should bring it or not. But a week without easy access---like a trip in a time machine--dial phones and---STAMPS!!!!

... and in case you're not sure where TukCom is located, if you stand at the start of Walking Street (on your right, beach behind you) and head up to the traffic lights (junction with 2nd Road) continue over lights, a temple on your left (stop off for a v cheap legit massage just inside last gates) then road bends to the left, TukCom is another 50 metres or more on the right. You don't want the 1st (Ground) Floor, 2nd Floor is mobile phones, the Floors after that are all the computer/DVD/etc products.

Many of us try to help when we can.

Once you have all that set up.. I recomend the hours of 6am to 830am atleast at the Metro Apts. (Im sure many places that offer wifi would be the same though.) Any other time it was difficult to get online with thier set up. So many people using it at once. I was just usually getting in around that time and waiting for my nightly companion to finish her shower, before the fun began. I would log in and see what was going on here, and back at home.
