Not a new volcano. It erupts about every five years and have not caused problems in the past. And if it should do it this time I am going to get mad as hell since I am supposed to fly on friday.

Experts have warned that ash from an erupting Icelandic volcano that closed the country's airspace may blow across large swathes of western Europe, raising fears of new flight chaos. Ash from the erupting Icelandic volcano is expected to reach Britain by tomorrow, airlines have been warned.

Air safety officials said ash from the Grimsvotn eruption may reach north Scotland by as early as tomorrow before sweeping across Britain to hit France and Spain two days later.

The eruption, which was far more powerful than the Eyjafjoell blast and its plume peak of nine kilometres, was meanwhile already showing signs of tapering off, spokeswoman Bergthora Njala Gudmundsdottir said.

Iceland's meteorological office said the plume from Grimsvotn, which last exploded in 2004, had fallen in height from a peak of about 25km in the hours after the eruption and was now holding steady.

"It has been steady all night just below 10 kilometres," met office forecaster Teitur Arason said, adding current wind conditions were spreading the ashes in separate directions

Ahhh, That reminds me! I must have a flight booked. Seems every time I do these past few years there is an ash cloud, or a yellow/red shirt demonstration.

Elephants are really, really big compared to televisions....yet I saw a whole herd of 'em on my TV only yesterday..Go figure?
Oh..I nearly forgot..Ehhhh?

It seems that the ash cloud is heading for the UK and some flights have started to be cancelled in Scotland...

Ended up delaying a trip to the dam last year because of the ash cloud last year. Hopefully it will clear quick. I hears it's a lot more coarse than the one last time around so it should fall to the ground quicker. Some rain would be good too.

Bloody Iceland. Bad enough they went bankrupt they want to keep messing up people's holidays too. Jajaja

Reports yesterday suggested it would pan out the same as the '98 and '04 eruptions, now it's a question of 'hold your breath and pray'. The ash particles are allegedly larger and may fall to the ground quicker plus the authorities have the experience of last year's Eyjafjallajoekull eruption to help them. โชคดี to anyone travelling this week.
