I want to call Pattaya from the US. What country codes to I enter? This website http://www.1areacodescountrycodes.com/international-country-codes-city-calling-code-thailand.htm gives code 66 for Thailand and 38 for Chon Buri. Do I enter both? Also, will the Nokia I bought in Pattaya allow me to call LOS if I get a SIM card at a local 7/11 here in the US, or it better to get an international calling card? Will an international calling card allow me to call Pattaya with my Virgin Mobile account? Is the following useful for calling cards? http://www.comfi.com/calling-cards/Thailand

01166+city code+ then the number

calling a cell phone in Thailand would be

011668xxxxxxxx

you don't dial the 0 when calling a cell number

I doubt Thai phone will work in US. Mobile phones on different platform here.

I'd go with an International calling card (though many suggest Skype)

You can use your regular phone but call may be expensive. In Canada I use the Gold Card . Last call to Thailand Cell phone was 39 cents/cdn (about 12 Baht) for a 20 minute call... Good value. I'm sure there are international calling cards available in the US

+ being the exit code so from the US it would be 011668

So if the cell number is 08xxxxxxxx you would dail 011668xxxxxxxx

Exit code followed by the cell number with 0 omitted

I pay $60 per month for my wife's cellphone. Unlimited text and voice basically anywhere in the world.

OK, just to make sure I get this right, I dial 0116688, even though her her number begins with 08. Hence, assuming her number is 0811111111, I would dial 011668811111111, right?

Cell numbers in thailand have a zero first.

most cell numbers start with 08

as stated before you omit the zero at the beginning of the number after 01166

01166811111111

trust me you will know if you misdial

calling cards are the best way to call from US to LOS. Some cheat you on minutes though. there is 1 that the first word is Zoo that my friends Thai wife, told me was the best.
