Confused about lodging

Hi all,

 

There are 3 of us in total going, possibly a 4th. Would it be wise to get seperate rooms? Or try to find a place that can accomodate 3-4 people? Anyone have any suggestions on places like that. We are going in July.

 

The 3 are my brother, my cousin, and I. We are a tight knit group and love to just party it up. Vegas Style. None of us has ever been to Thailand.

 

I've seen some of the villas and they look awesome! But are they too far from the action?

 

Also we are staying for 3 weeks in thailand. How long should we stay in pattaya leaving us to still have plenty of time to discover the rest of the county.

 

Any ideas or suggestions are welcome!

Are you all into groupsex or feel copmfartable playing with a girl around the others? By all means, book some big place.

 

 

If you prefer your night (or day) time activities more in private, book seperate rooms.

 

 

My personal experience about reserving time to see more then only Pattaya:

- On my first 3.5 week trip i had great plans to visit a lot of Thailand, maybe even cross borders for a few days to Philippines or maybe Indonesia. All i managed was a 2 night trip to Koh Chang with a girl.

- On my 2nd, 2 months, trip i had similar plans, never got out of Pattaya other then a 4 night trip to Chiang Mai with a girl.

easiest way, seperate rooms, there are some really good cheap hotels 25-30 dollars a night, even right down near Walking Street. have stayed at the P-72, white rose 2 and jasmine inn, all are right in the thick of the action and are only about 800-1000 baht. i would say give yourself 5-7 days in pattaya, because any less you wont experience enough, any longer you will get burnt out. where are you planniing on going? if you want to hit the full moon party on koh phanang i would say fly from BKK to koh samui, quick flight and far easier than catching the train all the way down from BKK to surat thani (17 hrs) then boat to koh samui and then boat to koh phanang. you will be stuffed by the time you do all that travelling.

i would say spend 3-4 nights in koh samui, although after pattaya you may be a little underwhelmed. get to koh phanang a couple of days before full moon party or you will find it hard to get accomodation. it really depends where you want to go and what you want to do, but im guessing if you are on this forum, i know exactly why you are going..........in that case i would suggest stay in pattaya!!

As u said " tight knit group", the best thing is a apartment, preferrably V6 Condonium on the beach road. And it will be much better, if u have different rooms but interconnected. Some girls are a bit shy.

 

U can also try Mozaik Apartments (very close to the action), nice place. It all depends how long u want to stay in Pattaya.

Yes something of independent rooms that are connected or a 3 bedroom condo would be Ideal. I wish we could go to the full moon party but unfortunately it is on the 17th of July and we are leaving on the 16th.

 

We dont have any set plans on where we will go. We are playing it by ear. From experience this is better so if we like a place we can stay longer. In a previous trip to another country we ended up at this place for a week that was so boring and we were stuck there.

 

I'm the one planning the trip. On a side note *we just bought our tickets yesterday* I'm so excited!

Never heard of 3 guys sharing a room. Rooms are so cheap why would you even consider it. You will be here (Patts) in low season so a reasonable room in a guesthouse will be 400 to 800 baht a night (8 to 16 pounds). Book into one for the first night via the internet so you have somewhere to go with your bags when you arrive, and if you find it OK stay there. If you find it wanting then just move to another - there are only about a thousand places to stay in the central and south Pattaya area lol.

Separate rooms is the way to go. The girls you bring back would think it is a bit weird and find it uncomfortable sharing a room, most girls would probably just leave. Some would be fine with it, but they would be a minority.

Find a hotel that could accommodate you with 3/4 rooms next to each other. Pattaya Bay Resort is popular, it run by an American, a good guy.

There is also the Black Book Resort, it's a bit pricey but I've heard it's good.

welcome aboard friend..i would book a room each at a guest house in LK Metro area..any of them,theres lots to choose from,they are all tidy,safe and its a great area for newbees 600/700bht well cheap..use the bar as your communal areas to hang with your mates...then if one of you falls for a girl or wants a bit of time alone with there lady,you got a room each..as for seeing the rest of thailand go to pattaya first,then when you get bored if you ever do..day trips are cheap and can be booked on every street corner..good luck ..your all in for a treat

Haha seperate rooms it is. I just wanted to make sure that we were all close by in case anything went wrong or bad, in order to look out for each other. Because on any given night one of us could get hammered and usually the others pick up the slack.

IMO a VERY good decision - you wont regret it. Staying in one room would for sure complicate things when you discover what you are about to discover in LOS -

Good Advice. LK Metro and seperate rooms. There are lots of very good guest houses in LK Metro and if you can't all get into the same GH you should be all able to find rooms near each other. Other than that there are some great hotels all over Pattaya which will not be too busy at this time of the year. I bet you never make it out of Pattaya!

pattaya is very safe compared to most cities in the world mate,so you never have to worry..as long as you respect all thais and smile a lot you will be fine,lk metro is only 100 metres long with probably 20 guest houses next door to each other,you will all be fine...99.99999999999% of thai bar girls will make sure you get back to your room safely no matter what state you or your buddies are in...otherwise they dont get paid in the morning ...send an email off to greg at Billabong,great bloke he sort you out ..no problem

If your gonna see more of Thailand, do it before you go to Pattaya If you do pattaya first, you never gonna leave until you have to. LOL

I was thinking that as well. Save Pattaya for last. So far I think the trip will be BKK, then to Phuket, Ko Phi Phi, back to BKK, then Pattaya. In total 3 weeks. A friend is only staying for 2. So I have an extra week after he leaves to do whatever!

Get separate rooms, adjoining, and with connecting doors.

 

Trust me, best solution - best of all worlds.

 

Best to have your hotel booking agent try to arrange that, though -- generally, adjoining rooms are tricky to pre-book, if there's more than 2.
