COLIN HARVEY

Yesterday it was Colin's 76th birthday.  He was a cracking player and coach for Everton.  As a player he was knicknamed "The White Pele" by the Everton fans.

Like I said I don't watch any European football, so we will just have to wait and see what happens mate, but hopefully if we do get him he turns out to be a good un.

Its Wednesday and I've not mentioned our win on Sunday.  It was great to get 3 points after losing our previous 3 games.  We were great in the first half and played some good football . In the 2nd half we were not very good but we managed a win

Nowadays I just go the home games. Its very rare I go to an away game but many years ago I used to follow Everton all around the country and i ground I used to visit to watch the blues play was Elland Road.  And I never liked going there because Leeds fans were always looking for trouble.  And the Leeds police were useless.  Back in the 70's and 80's away fans at the end of the game would be locked in the ground and the home fans were let out first.  And once the home fans had gone the police were supposed to escort away fans to the coach park and the train station.  The police were useless at escorting away fans back to the coach's.  More than once I had to run or fight my way back to the coach.

Once I went to Leeds on the soccer special train.  The ground was 3 miles from the train station.  Before the game we had no problems walking up to the ground.  After the game we did get an escort back to the train station but again the police were rubbish.  The police were happy to let the leeds fan mingle in with the Everton fans.  Many Everton fans get kicked(including myself) and has long as we didnt retaliate the police did nothing BUT if an Everton fan turned round and hit the leeds fan back then the police got involved.

So I for one am not happy that leeds are back in the top flight

What's this got to do with tomorrow's game. So this sort of thing never happened at Goodison. I saw plenty on my visits.

Hi gaz0 Its got to do with tomorrow's game because we are playing Leeds.  And yes trouble happened at Goodison Park.  The reason why I mentioned it was because when I used to watch Everton all around the country Elland Road was one of the worst places to visit.  So tomorrows game just reminded me about years ago when I was a youngster
