You will also know the saying that "1 happy blue equals 10 bitter reds"

Just out of interest do you go the game or are you an armchair fan

I had a season ticket for years but I don't live in the UK now. When I do go home I get to use my mates season ticket when he's not there.

I understand fully how bitter you blues are.

PokerHerFaces if you take a look back at the most recent postings you will see that it's the red fans that are being bitter.  And I think some of the postings have come from you.

And in a recent posting I posted a photo in which Everton support Liverpool over Hillsbrough.

So people in glass houses should not throw stones.

And today Everton will be playing Swansea and soon I will be going to Goodison Park to watch the game.

Hopefully at 4:45 I will be leaving the ground a happy man

As well as being bitter, like most blues, you're a hypocrite. Do you remember the ante Liverpool posts you put on the other thread or have you forgotten?

Who's living in a glass house now muppet?

I have no reason to be bitter unlike you jealous Bluenoses. As Shankly said "If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden I'd shut the curtains"

Yesterday I was at Goodison Park to watch Everton beat Swansea 3 - 2.  And if I'm being honest Swansea were much the better team in the first half.  We were poor but Swansea did play very well and Everton were lucky to go in at half-time with a 1 -1 score line.  We did go one up against the run of play with Baines scoring from the penalty spot after Barkley was brought down in the area.

In the 2nd half Everton did improve and Lukaku scored to make it 2 - 1

lukaku.jpg

Lukaku scored but he didnt really have a good game against Swansea but part of the reason for this was that he didn't really get much support or service during the match

And not long later Barkley scored to make it 3 - 1

Swansea got back to 3 - 2 in injury time to make us  Evertonians worried that they just might snatch a draw

Well we got a good result last night at Newcastle and all 3 goals were good goals.  And the first one by Ross Barkley was the pick of the bunch.  And last night was our 4th consecutive premier league win on the run.  And that's the first time we have done that since 2008.  Hopefully we can win at Fulham at the weekend to make it 5 consecutive winning games on the run.  Touch wood

vimto66 I've been to a few do's where they have after dinner speakers and I've met Joe Royle at one of these do's and if memory serves me correctly he was a very good after dinner speaker.

I hope you have a good night

Joe Royle was a regular at Southport casino on Lord Street.  Typical toffee's, always gambling for a result 55

My Pattaya budget is perfectly adequate as long as I don't spend any of it

Everton have just announced plans to unveil a permanent Goodison memorial to the Hillsbrough 96

96.jpg

Plans are in the early stages but Everton have a commitment to unveil a memorial to coincide with the 25th Anniversary of that tragic day.

I wonder if this would happen in any other city

Everton are on a bit of a roll at the moment because today's 3 - 1 win at Fulham was our 5th consecutive win in the league.  It will be interesting to see if we will be able to keep the winning run going because we have an outside chance of 4th place in the league which would mean champions league qualification.  I don't think we will do it but if we don't get 4th it wont be for the lack of trying.  Today Fulham gave Everton a hard game and I believe they created a few good chances of there own and our goalkeeper was forced to make a few good saves.  I'm looking forward to seeing the highlights of the game later tonight on MOTD

Next weekend we are at home to Arsenal which will be a tough game. And I'll be at Goodison to cheer the blues

It was good night, joe was a good speaker very polite too.Had some good tales to tell, too many to mention here, one thng i thought was quite funny was about duncan ferguson,he was on about those everyday sayings which are so common like `daft as a brush` `bright as a button`and.... `thick as thieves`,he went on about those two burglars who broke into duncan fergusons house that time....................with him in it lol  :WinkGrin1: .He gave them a right pasting and they tried to do him for attempted murder apparently, pleased to say sanity prevailed for once and they failed.

Hi vimto66 I'm pleased to see that last Friday went well and joe made a good impression.  I've not been to a evenings with an after dinner speaker for awhile.  I must try and make an effort to go to one soon.

And those burglars must have been very thick to have broke into Duncan's house whilst he was inside

Marvelous result for Everton today beating Arsenal easily. Arsenal is in serious trouble in losing a champion League place to Everton who have a match in hand.

I am so glad that I was at Goodison Park today because Everton played some great football and deserved there 3 - 0 victory.  And there was a great atmosphere at the ground has the fans really got behind Everton.

We are now only 1 point behind 4th placed Arsenal with a game in hand.  We have got some tough games to play between now and the end of the season but the way we are playing we have a good chance of finishing 4th

As a Man U fan I hate to give others credit but I thought Everton were excellent today. Martinez out thought Wenger & Everton out fought Arsenal. Under Moyes I never got excited about watching Everton if they were playing on sky but your a very different team under Martinez. He may not get the headlines of a Lukaku but I thought James Mccarthey work rate was incredible a real unsung hero. Martinez got his tactics spot on & I hope you get 4th spot & into the CL next season.
