Hotel or Condo.

I note that most regulars tend to prefer hotels over apartments..

I would have thought condo would be less expensive if staying for a month or two.

Just as good if serviced and a restaurant in building not necessary as so many available elsewhere.

I have only stayed in hotels myself,so am just wondering.

I'd say most regulars seem to prefer guesthouses over hotels. Cheaper I guess and maybe more free too (when it comes to joiner fees and attitude towards girls).

Personally I will try a condo for a month for even more freedom.

Only advantage I can think of when it comes to living in a hotel is that it might have a great breakfast, buts its alot of extra cash for that breakfast.

One individuals freedom ends where another individuals freedom begins.

Hi Diar, I might suggest that you try Dancewatcher.com. Ask for room on the south side View talay 6 Beachroadlover

If you are going to stay for a long period of time say a good month, then a daily rate of a hotel would be too steep. But there are some which offer monthly, some even weekly, rates which are really good bargains. In my own experience, it was a bit of a toilsome task to look for a condo to rent for just a month. I do not know how others' luck played though. I would strongly suggest that you look for those hotels which offer monthly discounted rates.

If you're just staying for a couple of weeks, i would go for a hotel/guesthouse. If planning longer it would be worth your while going for a condo. I've never stayed in a condo, but tried to book one for 3 weeks last year. (1 month rent) They also wanted 3 months deposit. Couldn't understand that one so i didn't take it any further. I'm sure there are loads of guys on here who can help you out with advice. Good luck.

As beachroadlover suggested, try Dancewatchers.com. First two trips I stayed in hotels, then saw Dancewatchers site, stayed next two trips in their condo's, will never go back to hotel unless cannot get condo.

Yes, if you stay for 3 weeks or more, better to book for month.

View Talay 6 next door to Central Festival, brilliant location, every meal can be at Central, no need to go anywhere else if you don't want to.

Just get onto website and have a look.

But book well in advance otherwise you will not get one.

Stayed at View Talay 6 26th floor room 1004 with Dancewatchers this last trip in April. 1800B per night for a spectacular view, great room and great central location. Guesthouses such as Billabong on LK Metro are less than 1000 per night for a standard room. KTK residences get a goood write up http://ktkpattaya.com/roomrate.html

So you need to think about what you will like, and the location. Perhaps stay at a few different places to give the holiday a bit of variety.

But definitely, guesthouses and condos should be most economical.....

  • 2 weeks later...

I prefer to avoid hotels. Much 'my home' in a small appartment. With little kitchen and not roomates every day (I think that French should avoid roomates now !).
